The trouble with liberals is not just that they eventually run out of other people’s money, as Margaret Thatcher observed. It’s that they find new ways every day to project their own dysfunctional worldview on the rest of us.
It’s like living next door to a nuclear-waste dump run by the Bumpusses. You’d like to ignore it, but shards of spent fuel keep falling into your yard and setting your dog on fire.
This is how non-progressive Americans increasingly view our ever-coarsening, “progressive” popular culture and the ruling elites who promote it. They’re aghast at not only the moral meltdown, but the rise of dictatorial executive power in Washington, as explained to us by the president in his State of the Union address, in which he reduced Congress to a helpmate at best.
As for whether the culture is rotten, ask any anxious parent whose child is out of sight for more than five minutes. Ask middle-class wage earners working on their tax return, trying to please an increasingly ruthless Internal Revenue Service.
It’s all connected. As the moral, marriage-based culture collapses, the government grows bigger to pick up the pieces. In such a culture, it’s easy for the president and his media allies to stoke the fires of envy and spread more dependency. It works even better when the people are stoned....

Just look at how many of the entertainment world vulgarians have been hosted and toasted by the Mrs Sourpuss and MR Selfie themselves, even in OUR White House
This happened because moral citizens are too cowardly to stand up and defend thousands of years of civilization from the debauched influences of the ungodly.
The French are testifying to their sense of moral outrage in the streets. Americans mistakenly thought they could vote for politicians to fight the battle for them, only to find that, with very few exceptions, politicians are even more cowardly than they are. That is how America was lost.

this is a left over from the cold war... communist Russia had their people in the US influencing from within and they found willing comrades in the remanents of the progressive party in post WW2 America
they infiltrated education and media... and the results are easily found in history

We have a few *Voices in the Wilderness* like Col. Allen West, Gov. Bobby Jindal, Gov. Mitt Romney [gasp], Rev. Billy Graham, and Gov. Sarah Palin.
As much as they put forth effort, they can’t do it all.

This is the best description of our current culture that I have read in many a day. This writer touches on every aspect of cultural rot in America and rightly identifies the cause. If it were another kind of mold or microbe, every lab in the world would be trying to find a way to neutralize it. Not so, the culture rot..Too much money and too much political power are involved in it’s perpetuation for the elites to eradicate what will eventually destruct us. I am glad I believe in a just God who will bring an eternal judgment after this life in over.

And they are boldly and unfairly attacked by the hedonists at every turn when they speak the truth.
Blaming “liberals” is too easy. How many people on Free Republic are 100% - one hundred percent! - opposed to fornication, illegitimacy, abortion, divorce, public immodesty, and so on?
There are those who object to the vulgarity of popular culture. There are those who object to the immorality. There are those who approve of both. And the smallest number, those who disapprove both: not just the tackiness, not just that they don’t think Miley Cyrus has a great body, but the violation of moral standards that apply to everything.

And, if you look at history and the downfall of nations, was it not the alliance with the progressive “artists” of the times which greatly helped to bring down those societies?

We need more crusaders. A more responsible press. The fight goes on.
Like many, my optimism fades to pessimism when it seems we have reached the tipping point.
Not that I want to live in a theocracy or anything, but I don’t want to live in a anything-goes society either.
The supposedly tolerant progressives seem to become more in-your-face and hostile to anyone that disagrees with them every day.
