How easy it is to slip away from You when we fail to honor Your Word and Your truths. How safe and comfortable it is to simply go along with the opinions of the world so that we dont have to appear contrary or different. Lord, forgive us of our weakness. Only with You and through You can we have the strength to stand for what is good and true. We ask You to help us always to preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; for only then can we be useful and faithful to You and Your Kingdom.
Father, we commit our military men and women and seek Your gracious care for them. Surely You are the God who strengthens them, Who helps them, Who upholds them with Your righteous right hand. We do not cease to give thanks for them, making mention of them in our prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
For our Olympic athletes, we pray for Your ministering angels to stand watch over them and to hide them from all harm and danger. For Your people, Israel, we ask for Your countenance to shine upon them and for Your grace to surround them.
Holy Lord, we need people of God who are willing to stand for all of Your truths---not just those that are popular or convenient. Father, give us the courage and boldness we need to make a difference in this dark world. We are the only representatives of Your love that some people will ever see. Help us, Lord, to be the salt and light that You have called us to be. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Please join us in prayer.

Joining in prayer for our country, our heroes, and all those who call on the name of the Lord.
Read: Romans 14:1-13
I havent made any New Years resolutions since 1975. I havent needed any new onesIm still working on old ones like these: write at least a short note in my journal every day; make a strong effort to read my Bible and pray each day; organize my time; try to keep my room clean (this was before I had a whole house to keep clean).
This year, however, I am adding a new resolution that I found in Pauls letter to the Romans: Let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brothers way (14:13). Although this resolution is old (about 2,000 years), it is one that we should renew annually. Like believers in Rome centuries ago, believers today sometimes make up rules for others to follow and insist on adherence to certain behaviors and beliefs that the Bible says little or nothing about. These stumbling blocks make it difficult for followers of Jesus to continue in the way of faith that He came to show usthat salvation is by grace not works (Gal. 2:16). It requires only that we trust in His death and resurrection for forgiveness.
We can celebrate this good news of Christ in the coming year by resolving not to set up hurdles that cause people to stumble.
Wow. Amen, Faith. Thank you for your prayer and meditation.
