‘SCIENCE GUY’ BILL NYE VS. CREATIONIST KEN HAM: WHO WILL WIN ....DEBATE OVER DARWINIAN EVOLUTION?

There’s been no shortage of controversy surrounding Tuesday’s debate between “Science Guy” Bill Nye and creationist Ken Ham. While some evolutionary theorists and atheists have chastised Nye for his willingness to publicly face-off against Ham, the former PBS host hasn’t been swayed by their arguments.

Instead, Nye has defended his decision to appear at the event, which will be held at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky. — and in an op-ed published on CNN.com Monday, Ham, too, reiterated his own personal quest to use the debate to give creationism a more public voice.

Or watch ‘Land of the Lost’, either way.

Nye is a mechanical engineering (BSME) degree from Cornell and worked for Boeing for a while. He also has a few additional honorary degrees.

Not sure where he gets his knowledge of Darwinian Evolution.

Many years ago my husband worked at the same company with Bill Nye (Avtech Corporation). The company designs and manufactures parts for the aerospace industry. Bill Nye was a Mechanical engineer. All the other engineers thought he was a terrible engineer (that’s not the word they used but I can’t repeat it here). Everyone was happy when he left to work full-time on his TV show.

Fair enough. .but my point is this..science has a paradox on creation vs evolution. .it can not test the mechanism to prove evolution. Because anything science does, any test they do and action they take is of course an intelligent act itself....so how can it recreate what they content evolution does with out intelligent intervention?...its a paradox ..any test of evolution vs creation can only prove creation can happen and can not prove evolution as an exclusively mechanism

Except that isn’t a paradox, especially under the definition of paradox. You can use tools to recreate (please understand what that word means, it does not mean initially create,) what may or may not have happened. That does not mean that what you’re recereating requires an intelligent touch, it just means you’re doing so because the alternative is waiting for whatever you’re producing to happen naturally.

I can wait for two fish to travel across the atlantic to mate, or I can just gather them myself. One happens naturally, the other has my intervention.

Regardless, I hope the actual debate stays on topic. Abiogenisis is not necessarily evolution, so if the debate is about evolution, hopefully it stays that way.

I am an engineer and a creationist. Nothing I do depends on evolutionary theory. Everything I do depends on observable science. Nothing I do is left to chance. Everything I do is deliberate and for a purpose.

It is absurd to believe that the circuits I’ve designed, or the programs I write, could be improved by coding errors, copying errors, or random noise injected by mindless agents, like electrical outages and alpha particle bombardment.

If there is no intelligence in nature, then how did intelligence “evolve”? The only answer that Mr. Nye seemed to have for challenges like these is, “That is a great mystery.”

Indeed.
