The Freedom from Religion Foundation, a Wisconsin-based nonprofit that advocates the separation of Church and State, has reportedly asked a North Carolina football coach to cease praying with his players. Hal Capps is the head coach at Mooresville High School in North Carolina, he is also an open and devout Christian. Capps has been recognized by students for his habit of praying with the football players before team events and encouraging students to attend church. While much of the community has rallied around Capps in support, the FRF has maintained its stance on the coaches activates. Their attorney, Patrick Elliot, wrote to the school system last fall saying,
“It is a violation of the Constitution for the Mooresville High School football coach to organize, lead, or participate in prayers or other religious proselytizing before, during, or after games and practices…It’s really inappropriate, wrong and unconstitutional for a coach to try to use that position to try and convert people to his religion,”
Capps has declined to be interviewed but stated that he and the team were moving forward.
It is not a violation of the Constitution for this coach to lead prayer, despite what anyone says.
The Constitution advocates toleration of differences WITH freedom of exercise as the default position on religion for all of the United States. In other words, grow up and recognize that there are lots of religions out there and just be tolerant.
The Founders chose freedom OVER religion police.
The FRF favors religion police. The Founders had no use for such a waste of time, energy, and money...as is evidence by tying up the courts with this nonsense.
If people are in such a position, they can easily just watch and learn what other people do when they engage in their religion. It is a cross-cultural religious learning event for them, if they have the presence of mind to recognize the wisdom of the founders.
And, if they don’t want to listen or participate, they don’t have to. If they want to walk elsewhere, they are FREE to do so. And THAT is also a huge lesson, to learn that you have options.
It’s ok to promote homosexual perversion though.

Ok. So why not have everyone arrive 30 minutes earlier on their own time and pray during that time. The school could not say a word.
It is, in fact, a blatant Constitutional violation for this coach to be ordered to STOP his right to lead prayer.

And yet the courts regularly find that expressions of religion are wrong. It flies in the face of the words of the Constitution but they obviously don’t care.
That coach is free to allahu Akbar as much as he wants.
Freedom means those players can get up and walk away or they can just stand there an watch and learn what that looks like.
It means if he gets offensive, then they can tell him.
And if he’s stupid enough to sit his best linebacker because he wants to extort religious expression out of them, then he won’t be a successful coach and he won’t long be the coach.
There absolutely IS religion taught in every public school in America. It’s called secular humanism. And it is destroying us.
And they have what to do with North Carolina? Why would they be involved at all?
Public School Helps Girl Get Abortion
In an unbelievable case that should outrage parents across the country, a public high school in Washington State helped a 15-year-old student get an abortion during school hours without parental consent.
The teenage girl had taken a pregnancy test at the school’s health center, according to a local news report, and administrators subsequently arranged for her to get an abortion at a county-run clinic. The girl was given a pass during school hours, put in a taxi and sent off to a local facility that’s overseen by the King County Health Department in Seattle. It is not known what classes she missed or if she will be allowed to make up the work.
The girl’s mother says the only consent form she signed allowed her daughter to be treated at the school’s health center for ailments such as earaches and sports physicals but not for terminating a pregnancy. She assures that nowhere in the paperwork does it mention “abortion or facilitating abortion.”

FFR is an atheist organization that promotes atheism and bullies Christians with threats of lawsuits. I pray for their total destruction. I haven’t heard them threaten muslims, though. Have you? I wish they would.

First, we are a union of separate states, and next, what exactly gives them that infamous “standing” that is so often used against conservatives?

My son played 4 years of high school football. What they did was the kid’s would break off into groups and pray prior to a game. The agnostic/atheist kids (there was one or two) would wander off. The other kids would group together... without a coach and pray. Grouped together were Jews, Catholics, and protestants of all denominations.. the group was usually lead by a Southern Baptist boy who (from my understanding) could bring God in as the 12th man.
In the spirit of Christian love and outreach I say we beat the snot out of the FRF attorney.

It’s time we all demand the FFR to go pound sand. Continue to pray no matter what they do, no matter what threats they deliver on. They win only if those under fire comply with their absurd demands.
I agree with that. Civil disobedience all the way on matters of prayer and faith.
