Rand Paul warns of blue Texas: GOP needs people ‘with tattoos’

Sen. Rand Paul, who represents Kentucky, said his home state of Texas could easily switch from a Republican stronghold to a Democratic voting block if the GOP doesn’t open its arms and take in more working class and more minorities.

“Texas will be a Democratic state within 10 years if you don’t change,” he said at a Houston dinner with Sen. John Cornyn, CNN reported. “That doesn’t mean we give up on what we believe in, but it means we have to be a more welcoming party. We have to welcome people of all races. We need to welcome people of all classes — business class, working class.”

What the heck is he talking about? Hispanics are not and I repeat are not for the most part going to vote for a republican. I know that for a fact, jack.

Absolutely right on. The GOP is perceived to be a bunch of stick-up-the-butt old farts and checked pants country club insiders.

If Texas turns blue in 10 years the Democrats will win 35 states.

10 years?
We're already purple. All the major cities are democrat enclaves; Houston, San Antonio, DFW, Austin; that's where you find most of the population.

Alright, show me just one Republican party official that has said "if you have a tatoo, you can't be a member."

What is Paul’s purpose? Reagan attracted Conservative Democrats by eloquently speaking of Conservative ideas. Maybe Paul should start doing that instead of lecturing about what the GOP should do with pointless rhetoric.

Nut turns out to have fallen closer to the tree every day.

Hell of a lot of tattooed conservative former military in Texas.
Oh? He means the drug addict population needs catered to?

Definitely Wrong Paul’s kid.

Rand Paul is about as far from GOP-e as you can get.

That's not true at all.

Rand's been taking establishment positions left and right for months on end now. Now he appears at some RINO function with quisling John Cornyn in attendance, and spouts the enemy line about the Republican party needing to be "inclusive".

At the same time, he's already given his support to Mitch McConnell's re-election bid.

That's your idea of someone who's as far as you can be from the GOP-e?

All of Texas votes. If 45% of Cities vote Republican and 70% of rural counties vote Republican those are big number for the Republicans.

If 80% of whites vote Republican and 30-40% of Hispanics vote Republican that is a big landslide for Republicans. You’d have to get it down to 10% of the Hispanic vote to be Democrat.

There are even illegal aliens who dont want amnesty so there are enough legal Hispanics who are not concerned about the immigration policies of the GOP.

Conservatives have been fleeing Socialist blue states in a mass exodus that's been going on for over a decade. Just where do you think they're moving to?

There's plenty of liberals fleeing Socialist blue states as well and moving to places like Texas --where the jobs are. And they're bringing their liberal attitudes with them. This is what happened to Colorado.

Has Ron Paul also endorsed Cornball? Missed that if he did. I guess they just can’t resist going with a RINO winner.

I don’t have much problem with ‘races’. It’s the type of people that are in them like scumbags, thugs, liberals, etc...that I don’t care for...

How can the GOP get 48 or 49% of the vote if white men who are 30% of the population are the only voters?

The GOP gets a staggered % amongst different demographics.

Why did Obama only get 41% in Texas running against a RINO?

If Texas turns purple everyone who knows a gun owner will turn out to vote and it will be a decade of a long struggle.

Rand Paul’s job is to stop gun grabbing for as long as possible until the lapdog Dem voters possibly take over in 20 or 30 years time.

Those are naturally liberal anyway. They would rather steal than work for a living.

Sure they are, but understand this. Liberals have never outnumbered conservatives in America. Not even now. Conservatives are getting the hell out of the liberal blue states and heading to states where there's little place left to run to. Comes a point where it's not possible to outnumber us in certain states.
