A 20-year-old memo says Hillary Clinton backed a single-payer socialist health system, believing ObamaCare-like mega-regulation to be “a crock.” As president, she’d double down on government control.

It’s buried over 60 paragraphs into Alana Goodman’s investigative article in the Washington Free Beacon this week about unpublished documents exposing Clinton’s ruthlessness. […]

The first lady had just launched her secretive health care task force pushing a “managed competition” approach to reform. Hillary commented “at length” to President Clinton, revealing she “thinks managed competition” is “a crock; single-payer necessary; maybe add to Medicare,” in the clipped wording of Blair's memo. …

That will be a plus in her primary if she decides to run.

The lib spinners on Fox last night were saying this translates to “Medicaid for All”, and by golly wouldn’t that be great? Kinda like “Free Ponies for All”!

When Hillary tried to take over healthcare in the 90s the CBO estimated that her first phase of implementation would create 100,000 new government employees in as many as 14 new agencies and departments.

They all support single payer. They want Obamacare to be good enough to hang around a few years; then when it is impossible to go back to free market, they will have single payer as the only way to fix the problem.

Reasonable people cannot possibly stand by as this fiasco unfolds and do nothing to fix it (the delays only make it worse, if you believe the concept of the healthy paying for the old and sick)- unless there is an ulterior motive. And that is single payer.

Obama doesn't care about his legacy, provided he is instrumental in single payer health care.

well, DUH!

That whole fiasco in ‘93 was all ABOUT her trying to impose a single payer health care system on us. Despite the fact that she had never actually been elected to ANYTHING!

Have two decades changed her mind? Highly doubtful.

Why didn’t they just describe it as “MEDICARE for All”, like Hildebeast herself did, back in March 2008?

Since the states have never delegated to Congress, via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for public healthcare purposes, what Hillary needs to support is for the states to ratify an amendment to the Constitution which will grant Congress the specific power that it needs to legislatively address public healthcare.

Conservatives too often acquiesce in liberal terminology. Instead of calling it “single payer,” we should be calling it “government monopoly” or “communist medicine.”

Well for better or worse, the fedgov currently funds about 47% of healthcare. It’s not that big of a leap for them.

She might get elected, but I think she’ll face a GOP controlled House and very possibly a GOP controlled Senate.

That chart looks a lot simpler than the ObamaCare organizational chart. I can actually read the captions in the boxes without magnification!

Poor Hillary...8 years of gridlock...but I’m sure Huma can Tweet out those executive orders as well as Valerie Jarrett does.

Anyone remember “Hillarycare”?

obamacare is just hillarycare with a different name.
That’s why none of the dims read the bill. They already knew what was in it.

I disagree.
Hillarycare was medicaid for all.
Obamacare is thru insurance companies.

Insurance companies aren’t going away anytime soon because they are HUGE contributors to politicians now.

And something else. Hillary is much more focused and ruthless than Obama. She won’t be out playing golf, or taking vacations. Her sole purpose will be to destroy her political opponents with a vengeance. She will be much more vindictive that Obama ever thought about.

That difference is there, but both are means to the ends of single payer. Just different routes to get there.
