While it seems to be a workaround for that particular set of laws, it entirely defeats one of the main advantages of the rifle.
Besides being a rifle that meets the upgraded guidelines of “carry weight vs. round count,” it totally re-physics (if I can coin that word) the in-line recoil profile of the conventional AR-15 platform with another vectored-recoil profile that causes extra time needed for on-target pointing.
They should make that the IYF model, “In your face”.
Like health care? The article mentions people taking their existing AR-15 in to get them modified so that they can avoid registration. Does anyone know how easy it would be to get them unmodified?
Take a perfectly good rifle a wreck it just to placate the damned State Police and the legislature. These same. Clowns will pass additional laws just like Connecticut did so as to make the public unsure of what is legal and what is not.
My advice would be to by nothing made in Connecticut and I live here.
Leftists call this “circumventing the law”,
and conservatives call this “complying with the law”.
The Native Americans on the reservation have had fully automatic assault weapons brought home from Vietnam and also smuggled across from Canada for 50 years.. NO SAFE ACT THERE ON Akwesasne coz it violates NY and federal treaties. The natives are restless.
Laugh now, but the NY gun grabbers will soon figure out a way to use this as an excuse to ban even more weapons. Those SOBs
Look, Ma!
I made a Ruger Mini-14 !
ObamaCare should look nonthreatening. It's appearances, not reality, that matter.
If liberals cared about reality, they would be conservatives.
The standard rule for design is that FORM follows FUNCTION.
Now the Politicians believe they can modify the FUNCTION by ruling against the FORM. No wonder they fail at design work.
Yup - that’s all it takes to make a so-called “assault rifle” perfectly legal.
I don’t give much credence to New York’s governor and state legislators. Their pet law still wouldn’t have stopped Adam Lanza.
The AR-15 can still be legally bought in NY and you don’t even have to register it - once you’ve made the necessary modifications to the firearm.
I think I’d prefer to just vote with my feet.
