According to a study from the National Bureau of Economic Research, about 20 percent of the population is attracted to their own gender. That’s nearly double the usual estimates of about 10 percent. The authors explain that their methodology might have something to do with it:
Participants were randomly assigned to either a “best practices method” that was computer-based and provides privacy and anonymity, or to a “veiled elicitation method” that further conceals individual responses. Answers in the veiled method preclude inference about any particular individual, but can be used to accurately estimate statistics about the population. Comparing the two methods shows sexuality-related questions receive biased responses even under current best practices, and, for many questions, the bias is substantial. The veiled method increased self-reports of non-heterosexual identity by 65% (p<0.05) and same-sex sexual experiences by 59% (p<0.01). The veiled method also increased the rates of anti-gay sentiment. Respondents were 67% more likely to express disapproval of an openly gay manager at work (p<0.01) and 71% more likely to say it is okay to discriminate against lesbian, gay, or bisexual individuals (p<0.01).

I lie to pollsters because most of them are liberals with an ax to grind. If they call me up I will tell them that I am queer and all of my seven brothers are queer and all of my sisters are transsexuals. I hear that high school kids lie their asses off on any survey involving sex.
Are you saying that out of a country of 320,000,000 million people only 6 million are gay? That is two percent. I find that hard to believe. It seems it has to be at least 32 million just in Hollywood alone. I think your figures are WAY off.
“Gay” is often manipulated in surveys. As nickcarraway observed, non-gay leftists often claim to be gay to inflate the numbers.
One of my favorite biased surveys (but A+ for creativity) defined gay as having had a homosexual encounter in the past five years, which doesn’t look terrible until you notice that they asked about specific experiences and counted having had a same-sex person make a pass as a homosexual encounter. In other words, if a pervert made a move on you, you counted as gay.
The best numbers I have seen came from a well-designed study, and the conclusion was that 1.5% to 2.5% of the adult US population was gay. Throw in bisexuals, and the number rises to 4% to 5%.
I don’t know, maybe it’s me. They seem to be everywhere making an obnoxious, nuisance out of themselves. T.V is being totally “fagafied.”

I think that the percentage is actually increasing.
When you have so many people who are so lost, raised without knowing God and His truth, so rebellious and angry, they will latch onto anything that they think gives meaning to their lives.
He’s lauded an respected because he (quite properly) kept himself detached and clinical about his results. That’s what a researcher does - if they do their job correctly. They turn off their emotions and just record results.

As I stated on a thread earlier today, there seems to be a full-court press to get a lot of pro-homosexual stories out. Couldn’t be some agenda, right?
Its 2-3%, but maybe !0% of Hollyweird, 20% of fashion designers and interior decorators. Its maybe 30% of liberals and feminists, especially those in newsrooms.
But they have no kids to send to college so they have twice the disposable income, and therefore have more money to give toward activism, and political causes.
I don’t care what consenting adults choose to do as long as they are discrete, I don’t tell people what goes on privately , wish they would just shut the hell up and not force us to hear about their doings.
We have an epidemic problem with porn addiction. Many of those sex addicts have a preference to homosexual sex especially if they have an aversion to it.
I wouldn’t be surprised.

Truly amazing how quickly they multiplied. Before Obama, homosexuals were estimated to be 2-3% of the population. Seems like they are multiplying faster than Obama’s budget deficits. How do they do that since they cannot give birth?
What is really scary is that at 20% a significant portion of my acquaintance must be hiding their sexual preference. Kind of reminds me of the invasion of the body snatchers. They are hidden all around us. We just don’t know it. Soon they will conquer us. Oh my God!!!

An earlier study concluded that 94% of the interior decorator population is gay.
