Rubio must think he has influence in this matter. He doesn’t.

..don’t matter, they will agree like they did with Reagan. Then they’ll fight the law and the border will be just as secured as it is today....US citizen will be stuck with the decision to let illegals suck the live out of the US. Comprehensive immigration laws will be ignored, they will be VOTING AS ILLEGALS WITH A YEAR.

Yeah, that’ll sure prevent them from harming innocent Americans. If they truly want to be citizens, they can do what other law abiding people do—go through legal channels to gain citizenship. American families should be the American government’s top priority.

The border must be secured before any law regarding illegal immigrants is even passed. If it is part of a new law it is the part that will instantly wither the day after enactment and will be a null provision.

Under Paul's plan, legalization wouldn't even be considered by Congress until the border was secured...would direct the Border Patrol and an Inspector General to certify to Congress when the border is secure.

And what happens if the border does not get secured or if the Inspector General is an Obama sycophant and LIES? Does the IG go to jail?

I agree with security, but it must be border, coast, air, and visa control.

Next, there’s absolutely no way we should EVER grant other than temporary worker entrance or full immigration status to any foreigner. Period. It will eventually be declared unconstitutional to have someone in this country on a status that forbids their application for citizenship. It will be called a form of slavery.

How many years has this “12 million” figure been in use? An entire decade? More? Is it one of those numbers that everybody just uses because everybody uses it? It’s got to be more like 20 million.

I'll say this for Senator Paul. From the headline, he knows precisely where to find the pulse. Secured and with security that's verifiable.

I'll know it's verifiable when the corrupt kleptocracy in the Valley of Mexico is threatening war, not just "La Raza.".

Been ther, done that-—and all we got were more ILLEGALS while the big kahunas decide whether to enforce it or not. Now we have the pos in chief who will simply use his pen to legalize all of them.

Securing the border is a red herring, not that we shouldn't try, but it's an impossible task unless we place massive resources on it... which we aren't going to...

We need to decentify the illegals to cross over and employers to hire them.....

1. You get caught here illegally...straight back home no questions asked...
2. Absolutely no local, state, federal bennies allowed...
3. An employer hires an illegal, bone crushing penalties...
4. Expired visa...sent home immediately...

For the "Dream Kids" who through no fault on their own as children are here...Give them temporary visa and three years to apply for and win citizenship...if not put on a bus back to whatever hell hole their parents come from

Paul's plan would direct the Border Patrol and an Inspector General to certify to Congress when the border is secure. To verify that the border is secure, the report would have to be approved by Congress. Once that is accomplished, currently illegal immigrants could apply for probationary work visas.

So what is the status of enforcement and deportation during this period of securing the border? This is more sophistry from Paul. And securing the border only solves part of the problem. 40% of the lawbreakers came here legally and overstayed their visas.

I am all FOR completely sealing the borders first and foremost. After that is accomplished, then I’d be willing to discuss a means of identifying, rounding up, and humanely repatriating these invaders back into Mexico.

Acknowledging the need for some legalization process for the 12 million illegal immigrants already here,

We do need better border and interior security. We do NOT need legalization for the current crop of illegals.

We do not need to becaome a police state and round these illegals up. We need to cut off freebies to them and we do need to deport them as we encounter them.

This contrasts sharply with the approach outlined this week by Sen. Rubio, who said legalization had to come first.

Senator Rubio?

Who is he?

Wasn't he considered important at one time for about 5 minutes?

You will never secure the border without first getting rid of an administration that refuses to enforce existing laws, much less the Constitution. Why impeachment proceedings for President Obama and Attorney General Holder have not been filed remains a mystery or perhaps is the result of the “race card” and white guilt. I’m tired of discussing issues such as these and would like to find a person or organization willing to take action to either save the United States or take steps for an equitable distribution of states. Today we see the “commerce clause” used to spread immoral and corrupt behavior that originates on the West Coast or Northeast. All of this backed by a legal system of political appointees who fail to honor their pledge to support the Constitution. Enough is enough!
