Aretha Holland-Jackson, 45, admitted in federal court that she used her access to the Department of Human Services’ computer system to set up public assistance for nearly two dozen phony beneficiaries. Using fake names and Social Security numbers, Holland-Jackson obtained government ID cards that she and others used to withdraw food stamps, cash and other public benefits from ATMs, according to prosecutors.

Allison Holland, Holland-Jackson’s 47-year-old sister, also admitted involvement in the scheme. Prosecutors said Holland, of Cheltenham, used three of the fake cards, then saved cash for her sister in a shoebox.

Holland-Jackson was arrested in September after using one of the debit cards to withdraw about $700 from an ATM on H Street NE, authorities said. She was in possession of eight cards at the time.

That's a shame.

The shame is that by the article, her sentence could only range from 15 to 31 months....imagine, stealing near a million dollars and only getting 2+ years in jail - likely less than a year with good time.

That would not surprise me. I’m fully expecting Eric [MyPeople] Holder to intervene in the prosecution and sentencing to see that she is treated lightly and further repercussions are minimize. It’s the Holder-Obama-Chicago Way.

You know, the people who complain about prisoners languishing in jail for years over selling $100 of pot or shoplifting have a real complaint, IMO. The lesson to be learned here: If you are going to be a criminal, think BIG. Really BIG. The bigger you think, the smaller your proportional risk.

——What do you bet this is the tip of the reparations iceberg-——

I believe the fraud and theft is far beyond anything we can imagine....

I would not be surprised if it was multiple billions every year....

I also think that there are multiple schemes set up within government agencies to fund progressive \ liberal organizations with taxpayer money....

How else can all these organizations seem to have unlimited funding.... When their contributors and benefactors are poor people... ?

She will be on the streets the day after odumbo gives out another of his “EO’s” which will probably go something like,
“Any and all black people currently incarcerated are pardoned and their sins forgiven”. Note, he won't specify “Sin no more”.

You’re right ... likewise, if you’re gonna go into debt, do it so big that it makes the bank(s) think twice about foreclosing you and having to declare a loss on the books.
