This just struck me like a bolt of lightning--if Oswald had more patience and was willing to wait about ten years he would have seen his dream come true of a Marxists state in the United States. The assasination was not even necessary to bring about the Marxist government that Oswald wanted. If Oswald were living today he would be holding pro-Obama signs and quite pleased with the direction this country is going in.
The Marxists took over the Democrat Party in the seventies and today most Democrat voters don't even seem to be the wiser. They wept at Kennedy's death and they now have a government that is quickly becoming the kind of government that Oswald would have wanted. If Oswald had been more patient and waited ten years he would have seen a country going on the fast track to a Marxist state.
The dems have been moving to the left far longer than that. I seem to remember reading recently that their 1930 platform contained about 80% of the CPUSA’s platform.
In some ways his politics were more conservative than many republican office holders today.
In other ways not so much.
He was a classic old school democrat which still places him quite a bit to the right of democrats today.
Wow.
The far-left push in the Democrat Party began in earnest in 1896 when they purged Conservative Bourbon President Grover Cleveland out of office in favor of Socialist William Jennings Bryan (although Bryan was left on fiscal matters, he was not anti-Christian. Many in those days sought to marry Christian and Socialist values together).
I thought it was because he wanted to steal the Jack ruby! (Paraphrasing Al Bundy)
The push towards communism has sped up and become something the D’s openly brag about instead of an area they always averred to, and I believe many of them sincerely did, abhor. Also, the sellout to the islamoNazi drive to build a world wide Muslim caliphate or empire is new. But there’s a ton of money behind it and some politicians are very easily bought ( they sell America out in a second, apparently figuring they can find someplace outside USA to take their bribe money... But when America goes , there will be few safe places for anybody, including them, anymore )
Sadly many have not learned their lesson and they are still trying to marry Christianity and Socialism.
Bryan wouldn’t even be a Democrat today. Because he put his Christianity first, today’s Democrats would call him a Religious Right type.
The Dems and some of the Repub pick pockets are not worried about the 17 tillion dollar debt, they will always be well taken care of. Notice how dictators in impoverished countries still live in palaces even as most of their people live in hovels.
If interested and you've not already done so, check out the last volume of Churchill's The Second World War - Triumph and Tragedy.
The betrayal of Eastern Europe, the lives of untold tens of thousands, and the subsequent Cold War was, at minimum, fecklessly abetted by FDR, Hopkins, et al.
Yalta, while one of the most shameful sell-outs in American history (imho), was the orgasmic climax to many long-cherished wet dreams at Foggy Bottom.

And.....
40 years after Palestinian home boy Sirhan Sirhan murdered Robert Kennedy - because “he supported Israel” - America elected an anti-Zionist Jew hating president.
The 1968 Tet Offensive was a coordinated Do or Die attack by every Viet Cong unit in Vietnam on the night of January 30 and the morning of January 31, 1968 that simultaneously struck every South Vietnamese City, village, and military installation in an attempt to win the war in one country wide surprise attack; they failed and they paid the price for their failure; they died. The annihilation of Viet Cong units was carried out by American and South Vietnamese combat units throughout South Vietnam and was a disaster for the Communist insurgency, as it never recovered from its loses. The war was carried on after Tet 1968 by invading North Vietnamese, and North Vietnam could never move sufficient troops down the Ho Chi Minh Trail to ever hope to defeat the United States effort in South Vietnam, so they resorted to their favorite Communist tactic; they lied.
1968 was a Presidential Election year in the United States, and the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) attempted to use the Tet Offensive to influence the election by claiming it was a Communist victory and the war was lost. The CPUSA organized an anti-war movement and assembled enough strength through this movement to seize control of the Democrat Party that summer during the 1968 Democrat Convention in Chicago. These Communists attempted to nominate a Presidential candidate who would end the war and they failed, but the CPUSA still retained control of the Democrat Party, and this Party managed to elect enough Leftist Democrats to Congress to cut funding for the Vietnam War, American troops were withdrawn, and the war was then lost, so in this way the 1968 Tet Offensive was indeed a Communist victory.
After using the Tet Offensive to gain control of the Democrat Party, the Communist Party USA never lost control, and when a few decades later they managed to elect an avowed Marxist Communist to the Presidency of the United States, it made the 1968 Tet Offensive the greatest Communist victory of all time.
I remember the Tet offensive very well. It was several years before I found out that it was a military failure because Walter Cronkite and all the other Commie news men made it look like a catastrophe for us.
What a strange war. We beat them over and over with both hands tied. It made no difference, nearly everyone now thinks they defeated us.
He hated the effing commies and warned against them when he wasn’t screwing everything that moved and they killed him
Then, my thoughts came together.
The press had already been radicalized as evidenced by the adoration of "Camelot" and the covering up of JFK's physical condition [a la FDR] and its studied avoidance of his womanizing.
His appointment of his very own brother as Attorney-General was glossed over and his near-disastrous handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis became a tale of heroism. So -- and I hadn't thought about it in this light before -- you're probably very right.
Propaganda is the ultimate weapon. Some people seem to not understand how incredibly powerful it is.
The Democrats were the Marxist party long before that. Hell even FDR was an admitted Socialist/Communist.
