Do Christians care if ‘Noah’ movie jibes with the Bible? Survey says … yep

LOS ANGELES – Paramount Studios has poured an estimated $125 million into the production of “Noah,” casting big names like Emma Watson and Russell Crowe, and trusting their baby to Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky. But six weeks ahead of its theatrical release, concern is brewing that the flick may not be popular with Christians at the box office.

Since early drafts of the script were leaked a couple of years ago, “Noah” has been plagued by suggestions that it portrayed the famous flood as a punishment for man’s disrespect for the nature, as opposed to sins against God.

I've been looking forward to this film all year, but if it comes out that this is just another attempt by some far left film maker to push his climate change agenda by rewriting the story of Noah, I won't be seeing this movie!!

With all the whining coming from Emma Watson about plastic water bottles not being allowed on set its not looking good.

I would never expect it to be exactly biblically accurate. A movie like this is all about the special effects, anyway. Besides, I find the choice of Russell Crowe to play Noah... interesting.

Well I’ve got no problem as long as it’s really close. It doesn’t have to be exact. Exact can be dull when telling a story. Besides, not a lot of Noah dialogue in the Bible.

The filmmaker has described Noah, the real-life character, as the first environmentally conscious person and said he is approaching the story with a “green perspective.”

Most people understand the need for some poetic license when telling a story on film. But they don’t like it when you disregard the biblical text to the point of disrespect.

I liked Avatar for the special effects alone. The story was idiotic and predictable.

Folks, the entire point of the Noahic record is to emphasize God’s hatred of sin and the degree to which man is capable of degenerating. If this film is some pseudo-spiritual catastrophism epic, then it misses the point entirely. Bad guys are in every film, but sin on a level that spurs God to exterminate mankind is really something Hollywood does NOT want to deal with.

Nothing coming out of this Hollywood is ever likely to portray anything approaching the truth found in the Bible,

I saw an article recently where the guy playing Noah, said he basically interpreted him as being passionless and uncaring,

How completely ignorant of whats in Genesis, or that Noah was a preacher of righteousness for those long years, God waiting only until Methuselah died before bringing it, it is no wonder to me that he was the longest lived human in history with God being long suffering that none should perish,

This is Babylons version, with Nimrod directing,

“But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Matthew 24:36-39

I do believe that Genesis said to “...fill the earth and subdue it...”. It didn’t say WORSHIP THE EARTH.

I don’t think the two ideas are at odds with one another. A movie on a topic like Noah could follow the Bible exactly while also expand on things not described in the Bible. The Bible is full of miracles and opportunities for movie producers to have fun with special effects

However in this case it sounds like leftists got ahold of the movie.

I won’t pay for it but I’ll watch it in a few years when it runs on TV. I can usually ignore the leftist messages infused into movies and just enjoy the visuals.
