A new PPP survey released today contains some very good news for Dr. Milton Wolf, the conservative candidate challenging incumbent U.S. Senator Pat Roberts in the Kansas Republican primary.
Last month, Roberts released an internal poll showing him with a 54-point lead.
Roberts 69%, Wolf 15%
Today, after news that Roberts no longer lives in Kansas and misled voters about his residency for years, Roberts only has a 26-point lead.
Roberts 49%, Wolf 23%
That's a 28-point collapse in just one month!
Pat Roberts is in a free fall.
PPP says that Roberts' image has now flipped upside down.
Pat Roberts has seen his net approval rating decline 12 points over the last year, in the wake of news media reports that he spends little time in the state. In February of 2013 we found him on slightly positive ground at a 31/28 spread, but now only 29% of voters approve of him compared to 38% who disapprove.
Pat Roberts has been in Washington now for 47 years and he's lost touch with Kansas voters. He has not only left them ideologically with votes to raise the debt limit, increase taxes, and put Kathleen Sebelius in charge of Obamacare, he has left them physically. Roberts does not live in Kansas anymore and rarely spends time there.
The Republican primary election in Kansas is still over 5 months away so there is plenty of time for Dr. Wolf to overtake Roberts. PPP agrees:

Well, I’m not.
I don’t know much about Senator Roberts, but isn’t he better than Bob Dole?
Apparently, Chris McDaniel of MS may have the best chance of victory of the southern insurgent Senate candidates, but SC and TX are very status quo states.
So....are you a supporter of the man?
I support Pat Roberts
Yes, Roberts is far better than Dole.
