GOP Governors Accuse Obama of Politically Motivated National Guard Cuts
TIME ^ | February 24, 2014 | By Zeke J. Miller

Republican governors are accusing President Barack Obama of making politically motivated cuts to their states’ National Guard funding.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting between the President and the National Governors Association, the GOP governors said they were deeply troubled by Obama’s tone when asked about planned cuts to the National Guard. South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley said Obama became ”aggressive” and that his tone “chilled the room quite a bit.”

“He basically said, ‘Many people in this room have asked for cuts, and now you getting ’em,’” Haley said at a news conference across from the White House at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, adding that her husband, a guardsman, just returned from a yearlong deployment to Afghanistan.

She said Obama was trying to “punish all these people who are asking for debt reduction by cutting the National Guard. It’s just not a logical way to do things.”

Texas Governor Rick Perry echoed Haley’s remarks, saying, “I hope that we’re not about to make a tragic mistake in this country by hollowing out our guard in our states in some political statement of ‘you’re all going to feel the pain,’ because that’s certainly what I heard from the President of the United States today.”

“As a matter of fact, he said in that meeting, he said, ‘If I hear any of you pushing back, making statements about Washington spends too much money, you will hear from me,’” Perry recounted. . .

The answer is State Guards for every State... staffed by the Officer Class zero has been dismissing, who number in the hundreds.

I was wondering earlier about financing greatly expanded State Guards by private funding, such as restaurants, car washes, etc. Fund our own guards and bring in all the great guys in fed.mil who are pained to have to call zero CINC.

I think the whole Guard conversation was a ‘message’ to zero, and it’s about time.

Zer0 always puts a blind eye toward those who wants to suggest that his and holders people should have to go out and work. It’s payback time for whitey and nothing any one does save impeachment will stop it. And impeachment is racist so the GOPe in the house covers their eyes and hopes it goes away on its own.

What happens when Homeland Security is bigger then our Military? If not already with city/counties tie ins?

Does Homeland Security take an oath like our Military does? I can’t find it.

So, the commie his starting to spread his wings. Without the MSM the guy would be a whimpering groveler. If a Republican president had said what Obama, the proven liar, said...well, you know the rest.

Stop blaming the media for everything. The real problem is a lack of an engaged opposition party to the rampaging marxists.

The kenyan told a bunch of lies in his Super Bowl interview. The GOP couldn’t be bothered to engage him regarding that. That is 100% on the useless beltway GOP and has nothing to do with the MSM. Until the GOP has a unified message and engaged game plan it really doesn’t matter what the MSM does. The GOP will continue losing.

Back to the ‘punish our enemies’ part. This is a thugocracy, plain and simple. 0bama is a vengeful, spiteful, dangerous prick. Reaching for levels of armtwisting, outright threatening of states’ sovereignty if they don’t bend to his will. I can write no more without getting flagged.

‘Many people in this room have asked for cuts, and now you getting ’em,’

Who would have believed we would see the day that a U.S. President speaks like a pants-dragging ghetto thug?

This is actually sone good news. Hopefully this will encourage some states to pull out of the national guard entirely. State guards are the way to go.

You’re absolutely correct. The Federal government provides the funding. If the national guards are not being used in some third world catbox, the governor can use them for something else. Such as disaster relief. More often than not in the last 20 years the national guards have been used as troops in foreign wars.

The states would be wise to recognize TANSTAAFL and have their own state guard. There are a lot of unexplored angles that the states have yet to explore, like heavily arming their state guards or their unorganized militias.
