I’d never seen a Sony store either.
Article says a total of 20, most in California.

I remember when Sony was the class of the field in electronics.
I have a 42 in Sony flatscreen about 5 yrs old that has been a troublefree performer.

Fair enough, but IMHO the blame lies with Sony's management, not Obama (ok...I'll give him a fair share out of general principle...lol).

Other electronics retailers have done well over the past several years.

FunkyZero is no more happy at people losing their jobs then I am. It’s business. Sony screwed up - and it’s NOT Obama’s fault - it’s Sony’s.

I used to buy a lot of Sony stuff, still have some of it actually. I* always considered it higher quality than most mid-range electronics.

But, when I found they had secretly installed a remote control app/root kit on my PC, I was furious. They thought they needed to monitor me to see if I was stealing their music... even though the malware was installed off the music CD that I PAID FOR... my sin was simply sticking it in my PC CDROM drive to play the album... autorun did the rest without me knowing any different. That's a serious breech of trust for me, and I'll never forget or forgive them for it... I most certainly will not reward them by giving them even more of my money. That bridge is a smoking crater and will stay that way.

As far as the attacks... I've found that with these types, it is best to just not engage. It goes nowhere and devolves into name-calling and insults. You can see that even though I didn't allow myself to be drawn into it, attempts to humiliate me, etc happened anyway. Assumptions are made, it goes on and on... in the end, you never change the minds of certain people because quite simply, your opinion is not credible to them and they have a need to feel superior. I find it's best to do like my wife... she just lets me think I'm in charge and everyone stays happy this way.

You seem like a quality FReeper so I wanted to throw my support towards one who seems sane (subtle hint, eh DJ MacWoW?).

I can remember my family laying out BIG money for a 27” Trinitron when the biggest TV was only 25”.

Sony used to be good.
