SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Officials at a Northern California high school acted appropriately when they ordered students wearing American flag T-shirts to turn the garments inside out during the Mexican heritage celebration Cinco de Mayo, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the officials' concerns of racial violence outweighed students' freedom of expression rights. Administrators feared the American-flag shirts would enflame the passions of Latino students celebrating the Mexican holiday. Live Oak High School, in the San Jose suburb of Morgan Hill, had a history of problems between white and Latino students on that day.
The unanimous three-judge panel said past problems gave school officials sufficient and justifiable reasons for their actions. The court said schools have wide latitude in curbing certain civil rights to ensure campus safety.

And which teaches that the way to get something banned is to start a riot. Which discriminates against those who do not. And if Christians responded with violence to the incessant offensive blasphemous material the media spews out, then the 9th would also ban it? Highly unlikely.

Mexico Bans Mexican Flag T-Shirts On July 4th To Avoid Offending Undocumented American Students
If schools were concerned about safety they wouldn’t ban the American flag they would ban violent minorities.

In Hawaii the last day of school is Kill a Haole (Caucasian or foreigner) day. My son didn’t have to go to school on the last day. But it really wasn’t a problem in the sleepy North Shore community where we lived.

It’s also OK for cops to shoot anyone or anything these days because “they feared for their safety.”
So typically leftist -
instead of punishing the thugs who get violent towards people for wearing a flag shirt,
they ban the flag shirt.
Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican Holiday. Simply don’t celebrate it in American schools. Why ban the American flag for another countries holiday? The flag should have been allowed and the celebration cancelled during school hours.

My question is this:
Are the “latino” students ILLEGALS?
If so, those AMERICAN STUDENTS Freedom of Speech rights OUTWEIGH everything and anything, and the teachers need to be fired.
The other question is this:
Why aren’t the AMERICAN parents of the AMERICAN kids up there, in front of the school, waving American flags and demanding those teachers, administrators -whatever - be thrown out on their asses?
If they’re NOT willing to stand up at THIS level, it’s a safe bet that they won’t stand up when it gets bloody.

Sink Ho Dee Mi Oh. Who cares. They cannot even run their own country so they come here illegally and want what we have earned by working for free. Come here, get a job, bring over grandmom and 14 cousins and get em all on welfare. Obama bragged of some old woman who is like 85, doesn’t speak a word of English, not a citizen, and gets all that free US government money. What a country. I’d be better off here as an illegal than a tax paying citizen.
If I remember the story correctly, the students wearing the American flag t-shirts in this case could be classified as “minorities,” too, based on their heritage. Yet, they all identify proudly as United States Americans, which, according to this ruling, they’re not allowed to do... at least not in school.
So, whether you’re white, black, or Latino, don’t even think about wearing a patriotic t-shirt to school. #sogladwehomeschool
