Liberals claim to be better than other mortals. Liberals, they tell us, are a political anomaly who vote for other people’s benefit, not their own. Democrats see themselves as the generous party, the saviors of the needy, the elderly, the minority underdog against the cruel hand of fate and Republicans.
Liberals are right: there is a difference in caring that shows up along party lines. Conservatives give more, a lot more. They aren’t content with good-hearted wishes, they do good deeds, turning wishes into actions. Conservatives are ten times more personally charitable, even to secular causes. They do far more volunteer work. They even give more blood. Conservatives do more to help the poor, the sick, minorities, the environment. People who want small government give an average of $1600 a year versus a measly $140 given by redistributionists. It’s not because conservatives are richer; the opposite is true.
Liberals rationalize their stingy behavior by saying government welfare is a right. They will tell you that voting for higher taxes (on other people) is morally superior to charity. Really? Out of a $1000 “donated” to the IRS a meager $30 reaches the poor, versus $700 from a private charity. Our neediest citizens would be in tough shape without the $126 billion in church programs, from soup kitchens to adoption centers to shelters to hospitals.
Liberals still see themselves as the giving ones. The real world doesn’t enter into it. Liberals know that Republicans are selfish rich guys who would let everyone else croak.

But they aren't, they know they aren't, and they flip out if you question their stupid policies because then you are exposing the fact that they aren't good at all -- they cause damage to to weak and vulnerable.

I live in the Philadelphia area. I’m surrounded by liberals. This is not my experience of them at all. While I don’t think they donate as much to charity, by and large, they do try to help other people. The biggest difference I have found is that rich liberals cheat on their taxes. Really.
Liberals are quite generous, with other people’s money.
Less selfish with other peoples money. Their own money? Very selfish.
Liberals are more unrealistic than other people. They have certain ideas - for example, taxes are good, but charitable giving is bad because it involves somebody with disposable income - and results do not matter to them.
I was trapped on a bus at a conference in Mexico with a bunch of California and Canadian liberals last week. The Mexicans had just caught the head of the Sinaloa cartel, responsible for hundreds of often gruesome deaths, a climate of fear in little towns out in the mountains that led to the formation of vigilante groups, the paralysis of the economy of Northern Mexico, and the introduction of methamphetamines (from Mexico and the US) into Guatemala and Costa Rica, creating a huge addict population among the poor and making crime surge. Oh, and he also did people smuggling and human trafficking, mostly to keep a fresh supply of young, addicted prostitutes flowing into other parts of Mexico and the US.
Mexicans were jubilant. But the liberals sniffed and started talking about how everybody should have free marijuana and how it was just the evil US that was responsible for everything this man did, and how prostitution really was a career choice...the only thing that kept me from bursting a blood vessel out of anger was my amazement at the fantasy world they live in.

Yes! Always less selfish - when it comes to other peoples’ money. When circumstances turn to their own selves, then they embark on any and every hackneyed ploy to justify whey they are above the fray and should be treated differently.
Case in point, all the gun hater Hollywood actors who fight against guns yet either carry one, or have bodyguards who do.

Liberals are self-centered.
My experience their big picture is their lack of responsibility..rich, poor, or whatever. Something is always someone else’s problem or someone else’s fault.
Some of the biggest commie-libs I knew worked in TV production land. Almost all of them made double or more what I made and were in tight with the good paying freelance world. If you weren’t in that clique, forget trying to get in, it took a few years to figure it out in my case. Anyway, one of them railed about me paying more in taxes and the like. This guy made double at least than me. I said something along the lines of you first. I got some stammering.
They try and fail. What do liberal good intentions get us in the end? They have guilt and good intentions to help the less fortunate but...... They do genuine good sometimes but by and large it is a negative

If you consider Liberals people, no. They are more generous with other people’s money, though.
