BarackObama reportedly planning #obamacare plan cancellation delay…

in order to help(?) Democrats.

The Obama administration is set to announce another major delay in implementing the Affordable Care Act, easing election pressure on Democrats.

As early as this week, according to two sources, the White House will announce a new directive allowing insurers to continue offering health plans that do not meet ObamaCare’s minimum coverage requirements.

Prolonging the “keep your plan” fix will avoid another wave of health policy cancellations otherwise expected this fall.

Couple of things about this. Note that all of this assumes that the administration can get away with unilaterally and retroactively changing the health care law again: Barack Obama is riding the GOP’s quite understandable reluctance to impeach him right into the ground*.

First off: hey, remember when the Democrats were all absolutely certain that Obamacare was going to lock in the American voting public for a generation**?

Second: will something like this even work as a blatant political ploy when everybody reports it as being a blatant political ploy? Don’t be so quick to say ‘yes:’ this administration isn’t actually very good at this.

Third: let us assume, for the moment, that insurers can go along with this scheme (and that it will actually happen). The basic result? …Increased uncertainty. The brutal truth of the matter is that some very unpleasant things are going to happen to people’s healthcare, and that these unpleasant things have been mandated by law. The Democrats would not expect organizations engaged in any other activities to properly function under a regime where they knew that they would be hammered, just not when: why do they expect businesses to operate differently?

"Fourth: this is a fun one, for given (and actually scary) values of ‘fun.’ Is the administration planning to allow healthcare companies to offer those used-to-be-horrid-according-to-Democratic-agitprop healthcare plans to the uninsured, too? – Because if they don’t, congratulations: the Democratic party has just implemented a caste system in American healthcare. Don’t quit your current job, because if you do you lose your current kind of decent healthcare and have to take one of those Obamacare plans that those people are stuck with."

The minions in the executive agencies must all be scrambling lately!

How is this fair to those who were already dumped off their plans?

Not to mention, since Obamacare is a tax, why are some going to be punished and others not?

Seems like this is unconstitutional.

I forget who said it, but this is clearly applicable: “The best way to deal with bad laws is to enforce them completely.”

And the GOPelite will do nothing. The courts will do nothing.

I predicted this months ago when they said millions of new notices would go out weeks before the 2014 elections. Yeah right.

The insurance companies and employers have most likely already done away with those plans, or have already gone a long way down the road towards eliminating them.

They will not want to reverse that course now.

I keep seeing a lot of commercials advertizing great medical and dental services on TV. What are they thinking, who can afford the ins. that will cover these procedures?

Obama has once again put the GOP between the horns of a dilemma. What can they do? If they oppose his unconstitutional act they look like they are "FOR" Obamacare. If they don't do anything it looks like they acquiesce to his dictatorial behavior. Give Obama credit at least for being a smart Chicago style politician.

You can see why the IRS needed those additional 15,000 attorneys and accountants.

There is a major rules re-write every week.

I have an individual plan that has been grandfathered until the end of 2014. Researching these guys... http://www.chministries.org/ I think this is likely where I end up someday.

No surprise.

That is similar to what they did with Medicare Advantage. They were going to drop it just before the 2012 election, but got so much flack from the Gray Panthers that they extended it through the election into 2013.

Dems are saddled w/ a huge paper trail of false "keep it" promises and are frantic to restore affordable plans (canceled by their historic party-line votes for the O/Care edict).

===========================================

JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER TO DEMOCRATS: You can't undo ALL of the O/Care collateral damage you created.

(1) throwing Americans off affordable health plans,

(2) burdening Americans w/ ruinous deductibles,

(3) nationalizing 1/6 of the US economy,

(4) abandoning the elderly and the chronically ill,

(5) empowering IPAB's (Death Panels),

(6) decimating intergenerational transfers of wealth,

(7) pulling $750 MILLION out of Medicare,

(8) drug rationing for seniors,

(9) new taxes on medical devices........and so on.

====================================================

INCONVENIENT FACTOID

<><> Sen Mike Enzi (R-Wyo) introed a bill in 2010 to allow Americans to keep their plans----E-V-E-R-Y Democrat voted against it.

<><> The Republican-controlled house has passed over 30 different bills amending or replacing O/Care. Sen Harry Reid is the Democrat roadblock who allows O/Care to stand untouched. No bills to change it are allowed before the Senate.

The GOP leadership will business as usual it until 4 weeks before the election...at that point they will make a token effort to let the low info voters know Obama care is bad. At no time will we hear the foiled opposition frame the matter in such a way as to ask ‘why do you think Obama is delaying this thing?’.

“The minions in the executive agencies must all be scrambling lately! “

I’m in the Executive recruiting business and it is a HUGE road block for the future of the industry without a doubt. Candidates will stay wedged in their dead end job without question. Do you think some guys wife will let her husband jump ship for $15k in salary and promotion when it will cost their family nearly that much for a crap plan?

The ramifications are ugly. Loss of income from both the candidate side and the recruiting industry side. Thank you Omoron!
