(CNSNews.com) In a final regulation issued Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assumed that under Obamacare the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2016 for a family will cost $20,000 for the year.
Under Obamacare, Americans will be required to buy health insurance or pay a penalty to the IRS. The IRS's assumption that the cheapest plan for a family will cost $20,000 per year is found in examples the IRS gives to help people understand how to calculate the penalty they will need to pay the government if they do not buy a mandated health plan. The examples point to families of four and families of five, both of which the IRS expects in its assumptions to pay a minimum of $20,000 per year for a bronze plan. The annual national average bronze plan premium for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) is $20,000, the regulation says.

Just how much birth control and how many abortions does that cover!
The plan is to make insurance so high that only the very wealthy can afford it. Then when the people cry out, the Rats will come out with a “solution”. That solution will be socialized medicine.
This farce health care will be in a shambles by the end of 2014. Paperwork for medical billings is already falling apart.
This is much more disturbing when you think about the many millions that are getting totally free Medicaid, at $20,000.00 a pop..
You had better get a 2nd, and 3rd job so they can live a healthier life, longer.. yep
“The plan is to put everyone who cant afford $20k for insurance on socialized medicine.”
Called Medicaid!
Wouldn’t matter if it were 30,000,000.
The Ophonybama Administration may become the best FairTax salesman yet!
Just like the Ophonybama Administration became the best guns ‘n ammo salesman yet!
Somehow, someway, we have to use the Ophonybama Administration’s ongoing and continuing assaults on our FReedoms and Liberties to roll the tide back!
Help us restore our FReedoms and Liberties! Help us pass the FAirTax. Go to http://www.fairtax.org to find out how you can help!
I’m on board with the fairtax except for all of that prebate nonsense.
This is not just about money.
People have already been essentially state-murdered
by the DNC and ObamaCARE.
And soon there will be a gout of needless deaths
by the state based upon Obama’s lies and Pelosi’s perjury.
Actually a decree that henceforth all health care would be FREE would have been less fanciful, wouldn’t it?
“Lucky thing they won’t have to pay the penalty until next year.”
They do have to pay the penalty this year. The House just passed a bill today to put this penalty off for a year for individuals (and their family) who don’t work for a company. If the senate passes the bill, Obama says he will veto it, so it won’t become law.
You may be thinking of company plans that Obama put off for a year. Those who don’t work for companies don’t get that extra year.
“Before Obamacare I couldnt afford health insurance.
Now I still cant afford health insurance but now I have to pay a fine for not beign able to afford it.”
Next up for Obama: The re-institution of “Debtors’ Prison”.
But since they won’t actually involve incarcerating citizens (& residents, legal or illegal) who vote democrat, they will be political re-education camps. Gulag Obama-ville.
“Cheapest Plan $20,000 Per Family in 2016”
No wonder Obama calls it “afforable health care”. Only Obama can afford it.
After the annual bonuses for the CEO, policy committee members, and senior VPs, there won’t be anything left to distribute to stockholders.
There is a way around Obamacare if you are a Christian. Google medical sharing ministries. These are exempt from obamacare and actually function in a way that they stimulate the free market response within the healthcare marketplace.
Medical sharing ministries are to obamacare as homeschooling is to public schooling.
Mrs. AV
All those “I’m covered” commercials they run on tv show millenials browsing plans that cost 50-75 bucks/ mo.
You know, the ones that you and I are paying the other 300+/mo for them.
Obamacare incorporates two lies.
The second lie was that Obamacare had to be passed in order to make possible more than $1trillion in savings in the “health care system” over the next decade. That was a lie before Obamacare was passed, because all the good analysis showed there was ZERO in actual “savings”, just more than $1trillion in additional govenment costs paid with more than $1trillion in new fees and taxes - taxes $1trillion +, savings zero.
The first lie was that Obamacare had to be created as legislation due to the “horrible rise in health insurance premiums” - meaning only something like Obamacare can stop that.
If it were ONLY for inflation alone, and not Obamacare,
the AVERAGE family policy for 2014 would be only about $17,500 (2010 average + inflation - and that’s forgiving the impacts of expectations that Obamacare was already having in 2010).
If $17,500 were the average, the LOWEST family plan would be quite some ways below that, because an average is not far from a median amount, usually; meaning almost 1/2 are highger and almost 1/2 are lower. AND, in 2010, when the average wss $15,745, the lowest (Utah state average) was just $11,007.
That would place the LOWEST plan in 2014, accounting ONLY for inflation since 2010, at about $12,106; or about 40% lower than the lowest Obamacare family plan.
HOWEVER, forgiving the fact that health insurance premiums have risin by more than inflation for a number of years (more on WHY some other time), if we use “health insurance premium inflation” since 2010-2013 instead, we would still get:
average family plan today - $18,642
lowest family plan today - $13,032 (34% less than under Obamacare).

Note: I used the Kaiser foundation stats (below) for the longer time frame covering multiple years, from which I calculated inflation factors for 2010-211, 2011-2012, 2012-2013; however, I continued to use the higher (higher than Kaiser) average cost figure for 2010 (my starting point) from the first source. IF the Kaiser figure is more accurate for 2010, then the distance between the Obamacare rates and what the rates might have been is even a little bit bigger.
By the same mechanisms that the statistics were manufactured to show a “market out of control” - (a)Union backed demands on more health insurance; (b) public employee demands on higher health insurance costs, (c) state governments MANDATING employers MUST add all kinds of coverage, Obamacare continues to artificially increase the cost of health insurance - by government fiat.
Cheaper to pay the 2% penalty ...
$20K is 2% of $1M salary. Not many people make this kind of dough. So, the majority of Americans would save big bucks just by paying the penalty ...
On $60K, the penalty would be $1200 ...
