A high school student in upstate New York was suspended for wearing an NRA T-shirt that touted the second amendment after he refused to turn it inside out or cover the words with duct tape.
Shane Kinney, a 16-year-old sophomore from Grand Island, located between Niagara Falls and Buffalo, served a one-day, in-school suspension Monday after he refused last Friday to turn his T-shirt inside out at the request of the vice principal at Grand Island High School. The shirt was emblazoned with the NRA logo and the words, 2nd Amendment Shall not be Infringed across the back.
Mr. Lauria [the vice principal] told me I had to either turn the shirt inside out or put duct tape over the words, Shane Kinney told FoxNews.com. I told them that I wasnt going to do it. I had to sit in the suspension room and eat lunch alone until my father brought me a new shirt to school.

Grand Island High School. Administered by fascists.
Don’t take the BS, young adults. It’s your future these idiots are #ing with. Fight smart, fight responsibly, fight legally.
Meanwhile their sex-Ed is legally obscene
Oh, I hope so.
New York public schools have already redacted second amendment from education materials?
Test a shirt that says 1st & 2nd Amend shall not be infringed. Put tape over 2nd and infringe on the 1st?
it sure makes them nervous
I hope a hundred kids show up the next day wearing the same shirt.
Unionized thugs who love eating tax dollars and coddling freaks. Sue the s out the district and kill any new taxes or assessment they will try to sneak in to cover the losses
What next will they ban shirts with the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence since it mentions God???
I have no doubt that if a kid who’s into gang culture and had tattoos, all that kinda stuff, if he wore such a shirt they wouldn’t bother him for 1 second. Same Shirt, Different Day.
Oh, wait, they already did that.
cover it with duct tape?
Then I guess he would need to cite the FIRST ammendment in sharpie pen on top of the duct tape
OMG I wonder if this is the son of a friend of mine???
We need an NRA tshirt with a rainbow on it.
Get your T-shirts here!
But wear a shirt with a rainbow flag and you’ll be rewarded.
There was pretty much nothing in the policy about guns.
- Shanes father Wayne Kinney
Doesn’t matter if there was. This is about free speech, not guns. No one, as far as I know, has ever been shot by a picture. School policy does not trump the U.S. Constitution. The administration is really grasping at straws if they want us to believe that an NRA shirt is potentially going to cause disruption or violence. These people need to be replaced NOW!
Of course we are talking New York here so you that will never happen.
Be proud of your beliefs, dont back down, get in their faces. That’s the lesson we need to learn from the left. The future belongs to the activists.
Should have been a rainbow shirt that said “ok to be a queer kid”.
Then the teacher would have given him an automatic A+
Well if Dad is smart he can get a nice check for the kids college fund since he has had his rights abridged.
Instead of "Dikes on Bikes," how about starting a group called "Fags with Mags." The tee-shirt logo could be the dark silhouette of a pistol with a rainbow colored magazine dropping out of the grip. The school administrators would be so conflicted that they would do nothing.
If it had a picture of a gun on it he could have taken the shirt off and used the gun to kill people. I have no problem here in Oz wearing a “Guns And Moses” t-shirt honoring Israel.
There is a gay 2nd amendment group Pink Pistols. I wonder if they sell shirts.
I’m willing to bet if it was a “handgun control inc” shirt nothing would have been said.
IIRC, NY State had a Constitutional Convention in the 1930s in which it repealed its version of the U.S. Second Amendment. Any corrections will be appreciated.
When defending these policies, we get told that they are doing this to create an environment where children will not “want to use guns.”
Yet, these same people fight to teach sex to kindergardners and they claim that this will help the children learn responsible sex....
Things that make you go hmmmm....
Oh, yeah! I’m afraid that vice principal would have needed to schedule reconstructive surgery on his a$$ when I finished with him.
Its good to live in Georgia. :-)
Not my son BUT I am working behind the scenes helping. It was my media alert that got to all the media outlets and has gone national.
The idiots still haven’t realized that there’s no such thing as local news anymore.

I know, I blasted it everywhere and told them never to screw with me... HAHAHAHA!
I am going on air in a few minutes again tune in to WBEN.com and listen live.
“There is a gay 2nd amendment group Pink Pistols”
They don’t sell shirts, as far as I could see. But they have a strong anti-bully message: Pick on someone your own caliber.
Should go well in a high school!
We are not letting up on it and will protest the next school board meeting.
I really don't understand the sexually confused but I know these guys because some of them used to check in to a gun group I belong to. No shrieking victim types. Someone referred to them as “The gang that can't shoot straight” and they thought it was hilarious.
Here’s the assistant principal’s email address:
Michael Lauria firstname.lastname@example.org
Email on the way.
I encourage others to put some pressure on this guy, too.
Did you see the one about a dem who thinks people who believe in global warming should be jailed? I’m telling you, these democrats are nuts...
I wonder what the little totalitarian police state dems will do to us next...
They want ‘deniers’ thrown in jail... then the NRA shirt...
From the link:
An assistant philosophy professor at Rochester Institute of Technology has proposed a bold plan to settle the debate on Global Warming. Lawrence Torcello wrote an essay suggesting that scientists who fail to fall in line with global warming alarmists should be charged with criminal negligence, and possibly even be thrown in jail.
I read that one. At the risk of getting Godwined, I’m reminded that some of Hitler’s strongest support came from German academia.
Whoops; should’ve pinged you to #47.
The Constitution is not allowed in New York schools?
The Constitution is not allowed in New York State. Governor Cuomo has made that perfectly clear.
