Sam Adams Pulls Its Sponsorship of St Patrick's Day Parade Over Gay Rights Boston parade organisers failed to reach an agreement with gay rights advocacy group, causing beer brewer to withdraw support

14 March 2014

The New York parade organisers have also come under fire for their policy toward LGBT people.

The maker of Sam Adams beer says it is withdrawing its sponsorship of Boston’s St Patrick’s Day parade a day after negotiations to allow gay groups to march broke down.

Boston Beer Co said in a statement Friday that it is disappointed that an agreement couldn’t be reached between the gay rights advocacy group MassEquality and parade organizers that would have allowed gay veterans to march. The parade is scheduled for Sunday.

Sam Adams was a brewer and a patriot, says so on the bottles. I don’t think a man that played baseball and football would go for this crap.

Why they did it:

http://www.boston.com/lifestyle/blogs/bostonspirit/2014/03/boston_restaurant_drops_sam_ad.html

>>Club Cafe, a South End restaurant fixture for more than 30 years and popular night spot for the city’s LGBT community has posted an open letter on its facebook page stating that it will no longer carry Sam Adams beer “until such time as either the Parade organizers change their position, or Sam Adams removes its support of the St. Patrick Day Parade.”

>>The letter states, in part, “It is hard to understand how a community like Boston, where Gay members of the Police force, military and others have, and continue to, put there lives on the line for ALL BOSTONIAN’s, that organizers of The St.Patrick’s Day Parade feel it is just to discriminate against us as a community,” and is signed by longtime owner Frank Ribaudo as well as longtime General Manager Jim Morgrage.

They can’t give up this victim schtick. It’s starting to look ludicrous.

Tried a sixer of Sam Adams summer ale once. Took a couple is sips, poured that bottle out and pawned the rest off on unwary guests. Took months to find anybody that had a taste for it. Never saw such a highly regarded brew suck so bad. The pole smokers are welcome to it.

The average homosexual freaks out if he has a spot on his new outfit, if his nails are not manicured to perfection, if he is not clean shaven, if his clothes are not fashionable and matching, if the room is not cleaned to perfection!

Yet these same people have no problem with getting human digestive waste on their privates on a nightly basis.

The more I read about this BS, the more I move from a simple difference to homosexuality to a hostility towards homosexuality.

I don't need to be reminded that some people have sex with other people of the same gender just like I don't need to be reminded that my parents had sex with each other.

It's not my business and I don't want it to be my business.

From the Club Cafe facebook, more reasons to drink Yuengling:

Josh Jumbelic:On the upside, you can replace the Sam Adams with Yuengling and draw in the gay PA expats.

PD MacGuire:Yes the Yuengling family, very well known for their union-busting and contributions to socially conservative organizations, will laugh all the way to the bank.

what is with these people?....

A St. Patrick's Day parade is supposed to be all about the Irish. Period. It's not supposed to be about gay rights, saving the whales, promoting the metric system, or anything else.

Yet liberals get angry if the parade organizers try to keep the focus on just the Irish. Bottom line: liberals are fascists.

Exactly.

It’s the equivalent of rushing the stage, wresting the microphone away from the presenter, and yelling out your message.

They need to go get their own platform to promote their message. Stop stealing from others.

I don’t see anyone selling the cross short.

God will have his way. You say God “can still win”.

Fact is...God WILL win and when he shows himself with power sinners repent.

At hollow even time we used to have the kids dress up as a fave saint, have a party: for homeschool groups they’d recite an age appropriate breed bio. I always let them go out on holloween ( all saints day eve/all gallows eve). It was fun up to like third grade

This is easy. Have a group go to gay parade dressed as a saints. Some were kings and queens some were stigmatics. And bring a banner. Sprinkle holy water and salt, use it

This will hurt no one but Sam Adams. Seems to be a very poor business decision considering this: Queers: "We are the 3.5%."

When these faggots insist on participating in the hajj in Mecca we’ll listen to their civil rights bullshit.

Until then they are just ‘gay boys in bondage’ wankers.

Was never a sam adams beer fan, but the backlash against these companies choosing perversion and devient behavior over normal Americans is coming.

I have to admit, Sam Adams USED to be a preferred pick for a brew, but now I’ve got a good half dozen small breweries around me, and none of them are actively campaigning for LGBT groups.

But hey, looking down the road, I can see two of them actively supporting it, and one which would passively support it, and the three I actually go to who would reject any suggestion that they’d support such a abomination of a lifestyle.

Actually, considering one I go to, I could see a liberal walk in, look at the gun handle taps, and stare at the constitution that is handed to the customer, and flee lest they be contaminated. Err, rather, I should say I’ve seen this happen, multiple times, and cheered each time.
