...... they decided to rewrite the rules to more clearly define exactly what bodies of water are within their regulatory power — and a bunch of lawmakers, lobbies, businesses, and private citizens are worried that the end result is going to be yet another massive EPA power grab that will make big government an even more pervasive and retarding for in commercial activity and on private property.

Does Klamath basin ring a bell? They WILL tell you what's best for you whether it is or not. Good luck to Andy and his family in Wyoming. When (if ever) is some local sheriff going to arrest these clowns? Denial of a new MRAP for their local office keeping them from acting? As far as I can recall, he/she is the top law enforcement person in the/a county and can deny access to these clowns.

A recruiting ad for the National Guard ran on KFI for a couple weeks.

Main thrust of the pitch was helping in case of disasters.

BUT one very scary line about what the NG will be doing...”protect the wetlands”

Protecting them from who? The property owners?

Private property rights...we no longer haz them.

The EPA is perhaps the most corrupt and power-drunk agency in the world. Shameless, cowardly, traitorous and un-American. May they rot in hell, one and all.

Indeed, can’t the state and local officials do something about this?

Property rights ?

Try mining the coal on your property without a federal permit.

What the link doesn't elaborate on is that the family had a permit to build the 'stock pond' from the State of Wyoming, not just 'followed the rules'.

What no one I've seen asking is:

How did the EPA find out about this?

A guy posted something to me about some things going on in Kansas where “they” use google to look for “new ponds” then backtrack looking for permits.

They are clever. The end goal is complete takeover of private property. They can’t do that just now, so they take a little here a little there. The property tax confiscates a percentage each year, they take over bodies of water by declaring them wetlands, they destroy your privacy by flying drones overhead.

The end goal is complete takeover of private property.

Correct. This is also why they insist on putting Silly Circles (roundabouts) everywhere; it puts more land under govt control.

As far as the pond though, libs feel it is ok for them to re-write the rules retroactively.

How about gold?

My property has been turned into a Carolina Healsplitter sanctuary (small fresh water calm deemed environmentally challenged) by the Fish and Wildlife service, and I have no recourse.

Don’t feel like people who don’t have endangered species on their property are being left out.

Certain spots on Oregon beaches are being closed to the public because a non-endangered species is declared endangered because it is not there.

Hard metal mining has been relatively unaffected by reclamation/soil saving laws until recently. Coal was federalized by Jimmah Cahtah in 1977.

They tried that here on the Alabama river. The powers that be decided that there is an Alabama sturgeon that should be in the river. Supposedly there have been TWO of the d**n things caught over the years. It looks just like the Mississippi sturgeon. They stopped dredging and commercial use of the river. Of course the folks that live along or use the river for fishing and boating are actually happy to have the river to themselves.
If some good ol’ boy catches one of the critters, no one will ever know. The officials have no clue what is out there in the wilds. They finally had to add a gator season on the river because people kept running into huge gators. For years the wild life people said there couldn't be a breeding population because it was too far north. They blamed the sitings on gators that people had turned loose.

"Private property rights...we no longer haz them."

Private property rights died when our forefathers accepted property taxes. Try not paying your property taxes for a year or two and you will find out who owns your property and what it's true worth is.

I have 3 ponds on my place. Two were built by the MUD to aid in flood control.

If the EPA wants to control mine, I will breach the dams and let the down stream deal with it.
