TEL AVIV – In recent weeks, representatives for the Obama administration have held meetings with a senior politician here in which the U.S. delegates brought up the possibility of replacing Benjamin Netanyahu as prime minister, according to an informed Jerusalem diplomatic source.

The meetings were held with Israel’s popular finance minister, Yair Lapid, founder and leader of the Yesh Atid Party, which became the second-largest party in the Knesset winning 19 seats in the last election.

The diplomatic source said the Obama administration identified Lapid as a moderate who could be helpful in pushing the Israeli government into accepting the framework to create a future Palestinian state.

According to the source, the talks included the possibility of Lapid bolting Netanyahu’s government if the prime minister rejects the U.S.-brokered regional talks.

"Replace him with Ngô Đình Diệm, perhaps?" Only if the Shah is not available.

IOW, Bibi definitely needs to hold the line against the Kenyan jihadist, to keep his domestic support solid. Thanks Nachum.

Diệm led the effort to create the Republic of Vietnam And he was assassinated, in what many believe to be a CIA covert plot, to install a "more moderate" leader with more inclination to listen to the USA.

Bolton: Sending Kerry to Ukraine Talks ‘Like Sending a Cupcake to Negotiate With a Steak Knife’
CNS News ^ | 03/17/2014 | Patrick Geedenough

Sending Secretary of State John Kerry to negotiate with his Russian counterpart in a failed bid to avert a Moscow-backed referendum in Crimea was “like sending a cupcake to negotiate with a steak knife,” former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton said on Sunday. Speaking as the referendum was underway, Bolton told Fox News that both the Obama administration and the European Union (E.U.) were demonstrating weakness in their handling of the Ukraine crisis.

Even after Kerry’s last-ditch talks with Lavrov on Saturday failed to avert the referendum, Kerry seemed reluctant to talk about sanctions. Asked during a press conference after the talks whether U.S. and E.U. sanctions would now be a fait accompli on Monday, he agreed that Obama and the E.U. “have said if the referendum takes place, there will be some sanctions” – but then added immediately, “There’ll be some response, put it that way.” Kerry referred several times during the press availability to Russia’s “legitimate concerns” and “legitimate interests” in Ukraine. “We hope President Putin will recognize that none of what we’re saying is meant as a threat. It’s not meant as a – in a personal way,” he said.

The arrogant SOB in the White House is livid over Bibi. He can’t stand the fact that Bibi won’t kowtow to His ego.

I’m old enough to remember Ngo Dinh Diem. And keep in mind that we’ve seen the exact same thing before. In 1998 Bill Clinton sent James Carville to Israel to interfere with their elections and make sure Netanyahu was thrown out. How did that work out? Well, none of the three guys who followed Netanyahu as prime minister were very successful at stopping the terrorist menace; that’s why Netanyahu is back now.

Is Bibi going to be in a traffic accident? He had better get his brakes checked. I don’t put anything past that scum in the White House.

Ya know, we have a prime international opponent that is standing three feet away, ready to kick our tail, and here the administration is worried about a small country, again.

So now, Obama thinks he can get Bibi removed, like he did with the Arab countries???

If not the Russians with a first strike, the Israelis would definitely find a way to get some satisfaction!
