In a victory for fair elections, a Federal judge ruled Wednesday that Arizona and Kansas may require residents to prove they are U.S. citizens in order to register to vote -- a clear rebuke to the Obama Administration, which had strongly fought the move.
The ruling by U.S. District Judge Eric Melgren, which applies to the federal voter registration form, imposes the same requirements as Arizona's and Kansas' state registration forms. Arizona voters passed such a requirement as part of the landmark Proposition 200, way back in 2004. But liberal justices had blocked the rule for years in various challenges. Kansas passed a similar requirement in 2012.
Last year, the two states sued the Federal Election Assistance Commission, which had refused to help officials in both states change federal election registration forms to include proof of citizenship.

A Victory!
Perhaps we will survive this regimes “fundatmental change”.
Voter I.D. laws are racist! Only white people have to have I.D. to vote...
Whoa, you gotta be kidding me, a Federal judge?
Obama is hereby ineligible to vote in any state or DC or anywhere coz he has no proof of citizenship.
I hope the judge has plenty of people watching his back.
This is a monumental win for common sense.
I think Holder will appeal it.
Holder will use Obie’s Mighty Pen..
Good work by Kris Kobach the Secretary of State in KS.
Overruled by a superior court in 3...2...1...
I only wish those monkey’s would show up in my part of the state. They no better of course.
In my Ohio precinct, I have to show my ID, and sign the poll book (matching my previous signature) every time I vote, despite I've voted in every election and on all those in-between sneaky "issues-only" vote days (do they have "early/absentee" ballots for THOSE?!)...
AND, the poll workers are the same people I see every time. We are already acquainted, if not actually always "neighbors"!
But that is just at my polling place. I am sure this does not occur at all other polling places in Cuyahoga County and greater NE Ohio. It should.
Thanks for post - Hedgecock column (link at article) is definitely worth a read, even from 2011!!
likely so, likely so.
Ha. There is no defeat for Obama. He and Eric Holder will merely ignore the judge.

The Arizona AG is already changing the ballots, and they will be used this November, no matter what the DOJ says. This could EASILY swing TWO Congressional races there. Ron Barber and Kirsten Synema both "won" by less than 1,000 votes in 2012.
It's a start - for years voter fraud wasn't even on the table...
Time to Turn That TIde
