It was the eagerly awaited meeting of the world’s two most important first ladies.
But there was a clear winner when Michelle Obama met her counterpart Peng Liyuan for the first time in Beijing.
As photographs and television footage began to emerge of Mrs Peng and Mrs Obama touring the Chinese capital, the country’s online forums were quick to claim victory in the “battle of the First Ladies”.
“Our First Lady is so graceful and elegant, leaving Michelle far behind,” said one critic. “We have won this time,” remarked another. “Ours is more refined and eye-catching,” said a third.
There was praise for Mrs Peng’s belted trouser suit, with flashes of crimson at her neckline to match her red earrings and clutch, but some questioned whether her high heels were sensible enough for the cobbles of the Forbidden City. But without them, Mrs Obama would have towered over her.

You could have said, "The US “first lady”, a vain communist fascist is not elegant." and been totally accurate.
OK - so the Chinese dictator’s wife is better-looking. The difference is that we picked our First Lady - theirs was imposed on them. And Xi Jinping’s wife can order people killed without consequence to her, whereas Michelle can’t. Any day of the week, I prefer ours to theirs - our is a First Lady, whereas theirs is a Queen in all but name.
One does not negate the other.
No one claimed Obama was elegant, but for some reason people here are claiming elegance to the psycho Chinese Communist “first lady”.
Wouldn’t that be an act of war?
Actually, perhaps you should reread the thread...most of the comments are regarding the trashiness of Moochie who certainly doesn't portray a fashion icon that is expected of wives of the US president.

Got to hand it to the Chinese, they aren’t afraid to say the truth.
Perhaps you should read the statement I responded to:

Michelle can’t help her basic frame and looks. She may have missed an opportunity to cultivate inner grace and taste, however. Like Barbara Bush didn’t look very good, but she managed to cultivate a good combination of dignity and warmth, suitable to her role.

The Chinese here (like the Mexicans and Blacks, etc) are very happy to be gimmies. So they vote for the Party of Gimmie. As they have no American Heritage or roots in American historical culture (other than the Gold Rush years when they were treated like sh*t).
So they vote Dem.
Jews vote Dem despite their affluence, education and intelligence because Jews are “stupid smart people”.
Whites vote Dem because they are either brainwashed or bad or stupid or a mixture of the previous.

The wookie wears those belts so high because she has no curvy waist. So she tries to “cinch” it in with those belts.
