Oberweis shunned by fellow Republicans
WLS-AM ^ | 3-24-14 | Bill Cameron

In the race for U.S. Senate, Republican challenger Jim Oberweis is getting shunned by two top Republicans - one local, one national.

Dick Durbin is such a favorite for reelection that Republican Senator Mark Kirk says he’s not even planning to campaign with fellow Republican Oberweis.

“I’m going to be protecting my relationship with Dick and not launching into a partisan jihad that hurts our partnership [in which we] both pull together for Illinois.”

And at his side at an unrelated news conference was Republican Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn of Texas, in town for a fundraiser, who took a pass on supporting Oberweis.

“The reason I’m here is for my own reelection, and so I’m not getting involved in the Illinois Senate race at this time.”

And so what you have there are two top senators throwing Oberweis under the bus.

They must hate a pro-life, pro-Biblical marriage, small businessman who doesn’t want to create a larger welfare state.

Mark Kirk Blasts 'Partisan Jihad' As He All But Endorses Dick Durbin Over GOP Rival

Kirk is one of THE “FILTHY 15″ REPUBLICANS WHO JOINED THE LEFT IN VOTING YES ON AMNESTY AMENDMENT

Dick Durbin Equates US Soldiers to KGB, Nazis and Khmer Rouge. Therefore the Rino Mark Kirk I am certain feels the same way in favoring the Jihad Muslim terrorists over our military men and women.

It was pretty “diddly squat” with Howard Henry Baker, Jr., in charge from 1981-1985 too, then Dole, not much happens but bad with our old GOP. But our primary voters are too uninformed to understand.

Many conservative activists and conservative Republican leaders begged Oberweis not to enter the race. Long ago, most political observers knew state Sen. Chris Lauzen (R-Aurora) intended to run for the seat, as soon as Hastert announced his pending retirement. In fact, many suggested Oberweis challenge a very vulnerable incumbent U.S. Senator, Dick Durbin. This would have been a perfect fit for Oberweis, but this advice fell on deaf ears, leading to last Saturday's disaster for Republicans. -- Oberweis Loss Of Hastert's 14th District In Illinois: Plenty Of Blame To Go Around | RFFM.org | March 09, 2008 | Daniel T. ...Cornyn and Kirk are Democrat infiltrators.

No, they're not. You have to realize, this is a one party system now. Has been for quite some time.

Ricardo Harris, for the 1999 murders of two employees and the wounding of two others during the robbery of an Oak Lawn liquor store. April 26, 2004

Updated: March 25, 2014 2:03AM

Ricardo Harris walked into an Oak Lawn liquor store on May 13, 1999 and shot four people with a handgun, killing two employees and wounding two sisters, leaving them for dead.

In April 2004, Harris became the first defendant in Cook County to receive a death sentence since a moratorium on executions was put in place about four years earlier.

But when Gov. Pat Quinn signed a bill in 2011 that abolished the death penalty, Harris’s sentence was changed to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

3 “I’m going to be protecting my relationship with Dick...."

I hope you Illinois Freepers let this jack-ass know how despicable that statement is.

According to his Wikipedia bio he had been married for 8 years and then divorced. And he is a member of the progressive United Church of Christ. Any substance to the rumors that he "bats for the other team?"

Durbin says he called Kirk to thank him for saying he won’t campaign for Oberweis because Kirk wants to protect his relationship with Durbin.

“You know, a lot of people have an image of Washington as a place of two parties at war,” Durbin said. “Mark Kirk and I have really tried to find ways to work together. I think that’s good for the state. t’s really good for our country. We do have a friendship and a partnership doing a lot of things together. Oh, we’re gonna disagree on some votes, that’s for sure. But we really try to accentuate the positive. His statement this week was very nice. I called him and thanked him.”
