There's some debate about how to survive the Zombie Apocalypse. Some say science will save us all, some will rely on math, and still others are banking on specialty gadgets. You can buy Zombie Apocalypse survival kits, and there are even Zombie Apocalypse maps that pinpoint where the danger zones would be in a zombie-mergency.

But the geniuses at Estately have crunched the numbers and determined which U.S. states are the best prepared for any zombie-related disasters in the near future based on 11 metrics, from residents' physical ability to weapons access.

Estately zombie apocalypse states ranking Estately

We weren't kidding when we said Estately crunched the numbers for all sorts of zombie-busting factors. Here's what the company looked at for each state:

The military personnel/veterans numbers make NO sense, nor the gun owners for that matter. I’d like to see sources.

When they are “very” zombies,

they are “MUY” zombies.

And that’s what we’re really talking about.

Worth some consideration.

The Texas thing is questionable, but the Redoubt states rank well.

No chart needed: Rural vs urban. City vs country.

Inverse squared law as applied to MUY zombies per square mile.

“Oh sure, faggots in Massachusetts surviving better than we Alabama rednecks. I don’t think so.”

I completely agree with you. This list is garbage based on Mass. being ahead of Alabama. Anyone with common sense would choose Alabama instead of Mass.

Alaska would be first due to their location but I wouldn't want to live there. I'm in Texas but I see no reason to argue about where we are on the list since Mass. being ahead of Alabama, trashes this list for accuracy/common sense.

Exactly. 5 miles is good but 10 miles is 4 times better.

It is known that people will not walk 5 miles to much of anything. Most not even 1 mile. 10 or 30 or 100 miles, forget it.

That’s not reflected in the diagram.
The “zombie” vectors we’re talking about have a limited length.

Dying form a zombie attack is most likely directly related the proximity to zombies. Zombies are concentrated in large urban areas, so it follows that survival will be greatest for those most distant from the threat.
Most survival experts consider the highly urbanized areas as most likely to be unsafe after a collapse.

When asked about this list, Obama replied, “there’s six states missing.”

Laser Tag and Paintball as performance metrics?

Once you get past Alaska the ranking on this list is a joke.

North Tulsa, Oklahoma City will be Zombiefied. The rest of the state can handle the situation well.

Great quote easily applied to the Zombie factor.

No doubt.

Cept where my Mom lives, in the middle nowhere, on the border of Sperry.

Pretty much think Zombies will run out of energy before they ever reach her place and the ones that make it will get mowed down with .270 and .357.

My Mom loves parades and her property is on a hill. She can watch the whole thing from any vantage point and pick em off at will...until she runs out of ammo, which won’t be til the twelfth of never...
