Adolph Hitler (1889-1945) was leader of the National Socialist (Nazi) Party and Chancellor of Germany from 1933-1945; he led that country into World War II in 1939. The documents in this file range from 1933 to 1947, but primarily fall either in 1933 or between 1945 and 1947. In 1933, the FBI investigated an assassination threat made against Hitler. In the aftermath of Germanys surrender in 1945, western Allied forces suspected that Hitler had committed suicide but did not immediately find evidence of his death. At the time, it was feared that Hitler may have escaped in the closing days of the war, and searches were made to determine if he was still alive. FBI Files indicate that the Bureau investigated some of the rumors of Hitlers survival.

I remember seeing a MAD magazine takeoff on Butch Casually and the Sumdunce Kid in which the waiter was Hitler.
I think it was Mad, May have been Cracked or one other spoof magazine.

Maybe, but he drove the women in his life crazy and not in a good way. Wasn’t it Gili (not sure of spelling), his niece, that preceded Eva as the focus of his attentions. She killed herself too.
Yep, very true. But for his part, Adolph adored Eva in his own dysfunctional way...
When I was a very small child in the fifties and early sixties, there was a very popular little ditty concerning Hitler and Mussolini that was often repeated on the playgrounds but can’t be repeated here due to sensitive eyes.
Hitler also saw the Mussolini photos and vowed that wouldn’t happen to him. So after killing himself, he had he body burned to a crisp. Thus, no photos.
I don’t suppose you could scan and post that cartoon.
At the time, it was feared that Hitler may have escaped.
Did he make it to Brazil with the rest of the boys?.
