Why We Won't Yield To Unconstitutional Gun Law
The Hartford Courant ^ | March 28, 2014 | John Cinque

Posted on 03/30/2014 2:44:11 AM PDT by Daffynition

A year ago this coming Friday, the Connecticut General Assembly passed and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy signed into law "An Act Concerning Gun Violence Prevention and Child Safety." This bill, which requires owners of semiautomatic rifles defined as assault weapons to register them and includes other restrictions on guns and standard-capacity magazines, was placed into law using emergency certification, which means it had no public comment or input.

If hearings on the bill had been held, the legislature would have heard from the thousands of law-abiding gun owners who see this law as unconstitutional and continue to support its repeal.

The law neither prevents violence nor protects children. It has, however, far reaching effects. It converts law-abiding citizens into potential felons by the tens of thousands, by making criminals of those of us who choose not to comply with the registration requirements. This despite our having legally and safely owned guns and ammunition for years. It has been reported conservatively that there are more than 50,000 unregistered assault weapons in Connecticut. Their owners can be charged with a Class D felony.

Btw, I'm not a Vermont resident.

If you're a CT, MA, or NY resident, I wouldn't be bragging on a public forum.

As much as Vermont gets maligned for other liberlese...it has the best attitude toward 2A on the eastern seaboard. No permits, no problem.

CCDL's RAlly for this Saturday...

Gun Rights Rally, April 5, 2014
Saturday, April 05 2014, 12:00pm - 3:00pm

A Gun Rights Rally will once again be held on the North Side Capitol Grounds. We will need every person there to make sure that our voices will be heard.

More details will be coming soon, but for now mark the date on your calendar.

Critical information regarding firearms Lawful carry at the Capitol

While the carrying of firearms is permitted on the Capitol grounds, firearms that are now defined as assault weapons under Public Act 13-3 are now prohibited. To avoid confusion and unnecessary hassles, we highly recommend carrying handguns (if you are properly permitted) in lieu of long arms. The Capitol police have been extremely friendly at our past rallies and have never hassled us for any reason. Lets try to keep it that way.

I would only protest at their workplaces IMO. Its a slippery slope if you invade their privacy at their homes

If only they had such consideration for us.

It behooves every CT voter who values the Constitution and Liberty to unseat him and his lackies, by voting these tyrants out.

Every time you elect a democrat you are increasing their collective numbers and if this creates a strong dem majority, you have to be aware that you ARE going to loose 2A rights.

Democrat majorities and 2A rights just aren't compatible.

Race Bannon led a bunch of FReepers to Joe Lieberman’s ‘hood.
IIRC the ‘rats were furious! Stirred ‘em up good.

How many clips (oops, magazines) are hanging off those belts?

I count 3 each, and they are sticking out like combat competition shooters.

Seem easy to lose, or get grabbed by a peace-loving citizen.

or

Flash Bangs in the windows?

Cuz You know it’s O.K. for them to list things but not vice-a-versa.

I’m on Your side BTW.

I’d be sleeping with both eyes open.

CT will have to release lots of murderers, robbers and rapists to make room in the prisons for gun owners.

“Its a slippery slope if you invade their privacy at their homes because the knee-jerk reaction by politicians will be to pass legislation that keeps their home addresses out of official record and instead turn them into even “more” of a protected class. “

Here in California all LEOs (and their immediate families) automobile registrations are kept secret. This number includes all non-sworn members of law enforcement like dispatchers and secretaries. Even the white hats at the airports. Result, a white hat at LAX was able to run up a five figure tab with his FasTrak transponder and never get caught until the Orange County Register did and expose on toll violators which showed that LEOs were at the top of the list by a wide margin.

This piece-of-work was at the front desk of the DPS to *sign-in* visitors when I went to renew my CCW.

In my left hand, I had the key-fob to my car and leaned in to sign the paper. *It* grabbed the key fob and growled..*You can't bring a knife in here!*

I grabbed it back from *it* so fast, *its* jaw fell open and through my clenched teeth I said, *It's NOT a knife!* ....and glared at *it*, spun on my heel and walked off to do my business down the hall. I was expecting to get *escorted* from the building ...but I think *her eminence* was too stunned to react.

[Did I mention I hate these storm troopers/]
