Youre probably sourly amused at all the signalling done in these paragraphs:
A new Minnesota poll, commissioned by a partisan group, finds that Democratic U.S. Sen. Al Franken is potentially vulnerable as he mounts his bid for re-election.
It found that Franken has a 3 percentage lead over Republican Julianne Ortman and a 6 percentage point lead over Republican Mike McFadden.
The poll was conducted by Magellan Strategies for American Encore, a group connected to the Koch Brothers that is already running television ads bashing Franken. It included 1,081 likely Minnesota voters in late March.
because you probably also suspect that the Star Tribune would use considerably more neutral language if it the poll had been commissioned by a Democratic-leaning group funded by the Steyer brothers. but thats all right: at least they felt obligated to report that Al Franken cant get above 44% against two named opponents. Admittedly, they didnt have much choice.
Does this mean that Franken is doomed? Of course not. Does it mean that the DSCC may need to think about kicking him more resources soon? Mayyyybe? The question for the DSCC is, how much do they feel like gambling? Because if the Democrats end up at the point where they lose Minnesota, then I dont see the Democrats even being able to hope to retake the Senate before 2018*.

*The 2016 Presidential election puts out a distortion field that makes any strong prognostications past that point meaningless. Particularly in the Senate, given that the question of who holds power there is much more reliant on individual personalities than it would be in the House: the 2016 election will undoubtedly cause a couple of vacancies there, as Senators take on Cabinet positions. Or the Vice Presidency.

2014 election campaign ping.
Any gut feeling regarding Mike McFadden vs. Julianne Ortman
http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2013/07/23/gops-mcfadden-builds-from-blank-political-slate/:
While describing himself as a strong believer in gun rights, McFadden also said he could vote for widening background checks for gun purchases.
"It does bother me that someone who couldn't pass a background check at Walmart could then go right down to a gun show and buy a gun," McFadden said. "So I would consider expanded background checks, specifically closing that gun show loophole."
Sounds like McFadden is an idiot.
If you care about secure borders, I ask you to think twice about Mike McFadden. He supports the Gang of 8 bill. His campaign literature says hes against amnesty, but his support of the Gang of 8 bill belies that assertion.

But he steered a middle course on some hot-button issues. On immigration, McFadden said any changes to immigration law would have to start with securing U.S. borders, but said he isn't opposed to finding a way for millions of immigrants now here illegally to obtain citizenship.
"As Republicans, we need to get our arms around this," McFadden said. He said he wants to see "outreach to the Hispanic community, because if they're not already Republicans they have the potential to be great Republicans because they have strong family values, they're entrepreneurial, they work hard, they're industrious. We need to appeal to them."
franken should be in prison for steeling an election.
He didn’t win. It was voter fraud, pure and simple.
this is the first time I have heard of Julianne Ortman

Hmmmmm....... Where have you been, my friend? As a Side Note: She is one of the ladies running for a Senate seat that has been endorsed by Sarah Palin.
Tangent to this...
* Where the H&!! was Mitch McConnell in 06' and 08' with a Republican Senate Electoral Committee to get Republican Senators voted in?
* Why was he blind sided by George Soro's Secretary of State at the State Level Initiative to get Uber Liberal SoS's elected because they are the one's who "count the votes"?
* Why isn't Mitch on a screed for Voter ID and other State based reforms given 1100 Felons voted for Franken?
I don't revel in my insubordination against "our" leadership, but I pray for a Bevin win, I can't stand the disappointment any longer....
I am a long ways from Minnesota.
