Mickey Rooney was the very last of the main cast, actually. Some supporting players and cameos (such as Marvin Kaplan, who was one of the garage mechanics in the scene with Winters; Jerry Lewis, who just had a small cameo & Carl Reiner, the airport tower controller).

Sad, though. What a wonderful cast of comic genius that was.

This a great interview with him from 2011. Sage advice.

Love that song.

A few years ago his son was mistreating him and trying to get his money. I wonder how that worked out.

RIP Mickey, hope you meet up with your friend, Judy.

He apparently started in his parents' vaudeville show when he was 17 months old... during the Warren G Harding Administration!

And Mickey Rooney’s father, later in life, portrayed Jiggs in the short-lived and very low-budget “Jiggs and Maggie” movie series that Monogram produced in the late-1940s. Based on the old comic strip. I’ve seen two or three of the films, and did note the resemblance between Rooney and his father, once Mickey got older.

Rooney and Garland were so great in those Andy Hardy movies and the musicals directed by Busby Berkeley.

I loved Mickey in all the Andy Hardy movies, and in Boys Town with Spencer Tracy, and any movie with Judy Garland.

Short on stature, long on talent, RIP Mickey.
