Holder blames gun lobby for contempt of Congress vote

Attorney General Eric Holder blamed “the gun lobby” for being behind his 2012 contempt vote in Congress, in one of many heated exchanges with House Republicans Tuesday.

The Republican-led House voted in 2012 to hold Mr. Holder in contempt of Congress — the first time ever for a sitting Cabinet member — for failing to provide key information about the “Operation Fast and Furious” gun-walking scandal.

In an oversight hearing Tuesday of the House Committee on the Judiciary, Mr. Holder said his contempt vote was “all about the gun lobby,” during a heated exchange with Rep. Louie Gohmert, Texas Republican.

Congress is still waiting for information from the Justice Department about the scandal, and Mr. Gohmert questioned whether the contempt vote meant anything to Mr. Holder.

“You don’t want to go there, buddy” a visibly upset Mr. Holder said, waving his finger at Mr. Gohmert. “You should not assume that is not a big deal to me.”

Mr. Gohmert replied that Congress is trying to get to the bottom of the scandal and that he didn’t need any lectures from Mr. Holder on what contempt meant to him. “And I don’t need lectures from you, either,” the attorney general replied...

So... the question everyone’s asking is, “Is Holder a fool or a liar?”

It must be one or the other.

Why can't it be both?

It’s always the Hegelian dialectic with (more recently) the Alinski twist. The “Gun Lobby” is a blood thirsty bunch, they are targeting little ole me...this is establishing the antithesis. (ie: You can’t side with them, this is how the rank-in-file takes it’s ques.)

Understand Friedrich Hegel and how Marx built on (completely warped) his work -the methodology falls right out.

Better a screw up
Than a total disaster.
Let’s send up Holder!

My new theory is that the Administration is doing one outrageous thing each day in order to keep the top story, the nation-killing disaster of Obamacare, off the Front Page.

Yesterday they walked into an easy unforced error over pay rates in the White House. Today Eric Holder picked a fight with a Congressman. Tomorrow Lois Lerner will probably say something outrageous.

Somewhere in the basement of the White House, all of these stories are being storyboarded. Kind of like the latest “scandals” of the Kardashians. It’s all a put-up job, and it’s all meant as a distraction.

Rep. James Sensenbrenner, an architect of the Patriot Act, asked Mr. Holder why he isn’t pursing a prosecution of Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper for perjury for his testimony to a Senate committee last year denying that U.S. intelligence agencies were gathering massive amounts of data about Americans’ electronic communications.

“What more do you need besides an admission from Gen. Clapper that he lied?” Mr. Sensenbrenner, Wisconsin Republican, asked referring to Mr. Clapper’s later admission that his remark was “the least untruthful” answer he could give.

Mr. Holder declined to say whether the Justice Department is pursuing an investigation, and Mr. Sensenbrenner said the department’s inaction raises doubts about whether Congress will try to pass any new intelligence bills.

Holder is a slease that should have been in prison a long time ago.

Everybody write this down: I predict Holder will do NOTHING about the Lerner situation. Oh, he may talk about it but Lerner will get off scott free from the Justice Dept.

I'm pissed that the Reps didn't give Holder a deadline for the Lerner affair with the understanding that if Holder misses the deadline Congress will lock her up, something they have the right to do.

There is entirely too much "niceness" here.

Dear Eric Holder,

There is no “gun lobby”, for you to denegrate.

There are over 3 million individual Americans, that own guns, and are willing to use them, in their own defense, against you.

Learner is either more valuable as the Republicans make her out to be....

Eitherin jail till obama whips out the pardon card...

Or...

They give her immunity...and she continues to obfuscate...covering the administration...

Either way it is a win/win for obama...

“Those guns did it to Holder!”

Holder was not responsible for his behavior.

Those Evil Guns took over his mind.
