A source close to Huckabee confirmed to ABC News that while in Iowa, Huckabee met behind closed doors with Gov. Terry Branstad, a fellow Republican, and other state GOP leaders and officials. In addition, he also huddled with several members of his 2008 campaign team based in the state.

His message to those he encountered Tuesday, according to the source familiar with the discussions, was clear: Keep your powder dry.

Then he needs to get off FOX immediately before someone signs a complaint against FOX for violating campaign finance laws.

The Huckster will not engender enough support from the Base to overcome.

He knows that. He just hopes he can land a cushy job in the next administration.

I can't stand him.

Huckabee Drops Serious Hints

The only thing Huckabee should drop is some serious weight.

I haven’t seen almost anyone on FR or FB express support for the Huckster

Well, hell...then let’s vote for anybody in the Republican primary who doesn’t call himself/herself conservative.

“Let the buyer beware.”

Patriots need to demand that all Republican candidates not only publicly acknowledge the existance of Congress's constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, but also promise to respect those limited powers with veto power if elected. /not sarc

Establishment goal. Let Huck run interference in Iowa to prevent an early surge by Cruz. Then let Bush seize momentum in New Hampshire and Florida

He has no chance to win or even to get enough support to be taken seriously. I think he knows that. I think if he gets in the race his purpose would only be to siphon votes from a good conservative like Cruz or Palin, who are fooled into thinking he is conservative because he sprinkles his talk with a lot of biblical references. He is a true huckster.

Your ratings look pretty accurate. Where would you squeeze in Pence?

Pence was not included in the poll, which is why I did not consider him.

I have not seen him much on TV so pretty hard for me to make an intelligent assessment. Only thing I know is he is pretty conservative.

Thank you for agreeing with my ratings.

Fat boy in center, David.

One of Huckabee's pathetic excuses for David's apparent sadism was that the dog had mange.

The dog had an easily treatable skin infection, so it deserved to die.

Here’s another hint Huck; Fuggetaboutit!! You have the Mr. Nice Guy disease. Unfortunately, nice guys finish last these days in politics unless you can muster the courage to snap back at your adversaries. You gotta throw a bit of a scare in them to be respected these days. Someone like Ted Cruz or Gov Walker in Wisconsin, these guys, I can believe in.
