Video: Feds Use Attack Dogs And Tasers Against Protesters Trying To Protect Nevada Cattle Ranch
YouTube ^ | 4/10/2014

Posted on 04/10/2014 11:05:03 AM PDT by Lazamataz

Read more on this story here. The Bureau of Land Management has been taking Cliven Bundy’s cattle, claiming that he is improperly grazing them on federal land. Yet Bundy and his family have been grazing them on the same land since the 1880s, long before the creation of the Bureau of Land Management came into existence. Bundy’s son was thrown to the ground and arrested when he stood on a public road to take pictures of what the government was doing.

As the video above shows, the tension got even greater after the federal agents showed up with backhoes and clashed with protesters questioning the action. Agents tased one man repeatedly, allegedly hit people with slow moving vehicles and at least one woman was thrown or knocked to the ground at around :30.

The CATTLE are grazing there NOTHING MORE!!! Cattle grazing on this land is VERY GOOD for the land, keeps down the brush which eventually
WILL become a real fire hazard! DO YOU THINK the Feds are going to go out there and clear brush?? THIS IS ALL ABOUT A DAMN DESERT
TURTLE and the COMMUNIST EPA!!!!

The government holds legal title to the land, read post 32.

There is nothing wrong with people paying rent to use something they don’t own. In fact that is the *right* thing to do.

Why can’t you understand you cannot use land you don’t own for free?? This did not turn into a problem until Bundys turned it into a problem. They deliberately stopped paying rent but continued to use the land. If they had continued to pay rent to use something they did not own they wouldn’t be having the problems they are now.

This is a very simple concept and should be very easy for anyone to understand.

maintain this land!!!!

Most all of those fires in the desert in NM and Nevada and Utah in the last 10 years have been on federally maintained land...

Clearly they are not doing their jobs...

Just read on Drudge that “20 cowboys” entered the Fed. Round-up site and retrieved a lot of cattle that was confiscated

If it’s not about rent why did Bundys pay rent up to 1993?

If they had kept paying rent to use land they do not and never did own we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Bundys are making their supporters look like idiots.

What makes you think that the feds “legally” acquired this land?

So they cite Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which was really capitulation and annexation through war. So who does he pay “the rent” to actually? It goes into a general till for Obama so he as the Executive can spread the socialist wealth around. You seemed to be arguing pretty hard here...

The *right* thing to do is to reverse fed regulation. You’ll notice that this rancher’s problems always start up when there is a Clintooon or the pResident Obama in office, and abate when an R is in office.

Read that whole thread objectively and then try and make that case.

They were paying rent to use something they did not own, they stopped paying rent in 1993 and deliberately escalated it to now. If they had simply continued to pay rent like other ranchers have we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

The facts - that the rancher started grazing in 1953 and paid for 45 years before deciding he was entitled to free forage for his cattle - seems to be lost. Who cares about facts when you can bellow with rage and emotion?

You will also notice his problems increased when he stopped paying rent.

Paying rent to use something you do not own is a pretty simple concept. We citizens have the right to expect our government to collect rent on public land they let ranchers use. Other rent paying ranchers don’t have the problems Bundys are having, and it’s not too hard to figure out why. They deliberately escalated it to this point and could have avoided it by just continuing to pay rent.

Every other rancher in the west pays for his grazing permits. Why should this one get free forage?
