The explosive discovery by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that its ranking Democratic member coordinated with the IRS to target True the Vote came as no surprise to its founder and president. She called it the tip of a very ugly iceberg.
Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., the committees chairman, released emails earlier this week strongly suggesting that Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., was in direct communication with disgraced IRS supervisor Lois Lerner in an effort to target True the Votes non-profit application.
In an interview with Newsmax, Catherine Engelbrecht, president of True the Vote, a Texas-based conservative organization founded to combat election fraud, said this weeks disclosure gives proof to her earlier claims.
“I’m thrilled to see that these documents are seeing the light of day and my current hope is that we continue on in this discovery process because we’re only beginning to see what I believe is the tip of a very ugly iceberg,” she said.
Through her attorney, Cleta Mitchell, Engelbrecht filed a complaint in February alleging that Cummings was pushing an investigation against True the Vote. He called those charges absolutely incorrect and untrue at the time. The emails Issa released this week directly contradict that claim.
“Now we find out from these emails released that in fact our request for an investigation really is well placed because [Cummings] was, and his staff, they were having communications with the IRS about True the Vote,” Mitchell said in the joint Newsmax interview with her client.
Newsmax reported:
Mitchell said the similarities between questions asked of True the Vote by Cummings staffers and IRS officials at separate junctures strongly suggested inappropriate coordination between Cummings and the IRS. Engelbrecht said holding Cummings accountable is important, but the issue goes far beyond him.
“To whatever extent there can be disciplinary action taken, we need to be very serious about taking them, but make no mistake, Elijah Cummings, though very important at this juncture of this discovery in this investigation, is just one of what I believe will be quite an extensive cast of characters that will point to a much vigor, much more orchestrated effort to target and silence private citizens,” Engelbrecht said. “He’s just one of many.”
The GOP is as much an enemy of the people as the RATs. The House, however, has to at least pretend to stand with its constituents so we shall see how many of them will support Boehner. Wouldn't be surprised if he squeaks by tho.
Sadly Cummings is my district House rep.
But he sure wasn't when I moved here.. They moved in and took over
Dems are convinced that their blacks and women can do anything now and get away with it, that those elected to GOP are too scared of those groups (and hispanics) to respond to them and fight back.

Oh my gosh.
Have you guys not been paying attention lately?
Any untowards word about Cummings will result in the immediate removal of the race card from the closest democrats hind pocket and it will be liberally applied to any republican that dares suggest that a member of the CBC could have somehow been involved in something unethical.
Did you forget already that it is those people that support voterID that are the UnAmericans?
The Dumbocrats are all in with this play
It might not seem like it, but our side is winning. I’ll send a link to some really great news...
Please send it to me too! Thanks.
Conservatives aren’t afraid of blacks. We see them as people - some good - some corrupt. It’s white liberal elites who see them only in terms of skin color...That said, I’m sorry you’re represented by someone like Cummings. That’s got to be dreadful.
Some seem to be terrified of them.

Theres NOT one other racial group in the United States that anyone would EVER think would riot under these circumstances. Only blacks. It does NOT speak well for them.

Thanks for correcting my mistake. I confused him with another elected Muslim.
Well, he’s a dishonest dirtbag who will tear our country down to further his agenda.
So your confusion is understandable. :)
A black face and white hands would certainly seem to be an indication of something extraterrestrial :)
'Afraid' of blacks? No. But I feel they've come under the spell of Establishment Democrats. Just as white southerners came under the spell of Establishment Democrats in the past.
Democrats changing victims from Blacks to Tea Party Members isn't redeeming. Democrats used similar tactics against both groups... just at different times. Both groups had their vote watered down or denied. Blacks with intimidation and dirty tricks - Tea Party members with the IRS and voter fraud.
I also feel we need to give up on the black vote - that it's a waste of time to go after. Just like the 'right to life' vote is a waste of time for Democrats to go after.
Some day blacks will get tired of propping up white liberal elites... especially when they realize the 'promises' made to them are worthless. There's a black group in Chicago that's starting to 'catch on'... and that's the point where we can step in and recruit. Until then blacks are the equivalent of the White Citizens Council...
I couldn't resist that one. Too easy.
How about the black liberal elites?
Like rev Al?
Like Rev Al? It takes more than money to be an elite. The Rev is a street smart con man with wads of cash... he’s NOT an elite.
