Sometimes politicians speak without thinking. Former Arkansas Governor and GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee was a perfect example of this on Saturday when he bizarrely claimed that he's "beginning to think there's more freedom in North Korea sometimes than in the United States." Huckabee was speaking in Manchester, NH at AFP's Freedom Summit.

I think the left aspires to make us like North Korea. They are getting closer every day.
If he made a similar comment about freedom in North Korea while living there, he’d be in prison the next day.
This is just populist pandering
Krauthammer has a column today about how a petition with 110,000 signatures was sent to the Washington Post saying that columns criticizing global warming should not be printed. That was sent the day before his column about global warming.
Hey Mike, heavyweights shouldn’t wear striped shirts.
Well that just made for a couple of campaign commercials for his opponents should he throw his hat in the ring.
Worse yet, it makes us all look like unbalanced loons.
Shut up, Mike.
Example #153 of ‘Not ready for primetime.’
Not exactly what he said
Not yet but we’re getting there.
Correct. We need to remember that a conservative can say “Good Morning” and the left will twist it into, “All children should die.”
People in AR pick some of the silliest people for public office, but will they stick with HRC in 2016?
It’s a race to determine which GOP candidate will be fatter: Christie, Huckabee or Jeb.
Misleading Headline is right.
Quite a stretch of what he said.
Yes, so far all they can do is get people fired, taxes audited, or their business harassed by regulatory agencies.
With the current monkey in charge of the NK, Huckabee would be pushing up weeds before the Sun shined the next day.

My thoughts exactly. First, the remark (even though directed at the TSA) showed a remarkable ignorance of conditions in North Korea. And, second, before those words left his mouth alarm bells should have been ringing regarding how they could come back to haunt him.
It’s right up there with Romney’s “47%” and Obama’s “bitter clingers.” And we already know whether or not the media will broadcast it far and wide when the need arises.
He doesn’t have a chance in hell of being nominated anyway, but still, he should have known better.
Well I wouldn’t go that far but its getting pretty bad. Bad enough that the lid may blow. Americans only know freedom and now that its being taken away they are getting fearful and angry. A dangerous combination.
I think the photo is a decade old, so everyone has gotten... bigger.
