Ted Cruz: GOP Will Win the Senate

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) believes if the midterms elections were held today, Republicans would win control of the Senate.

“I believe right now that we are on a path to do that, I think we’re going to win control of the Senate and we’re going to retire Harry Reid as Majority Leader,” Cruz said during an interview with Oklahoma radio host Pat Campbell, ahead of a planned rally in support of Republican Senate Candidate T.W. Shannon.

Cruz reminded conservatives that they should be focused on winning control of the Senate.

“I think if the election happens right now we would take control of the Senate,” Cruz added.

Cruz explained that it was also crucially important for strong conservatives like T.W. Shannon to join him in the Senate to fight the Washington D.C. establishment.

“Pat, the things that would amaze you if you had to spend some time in the Senate Republican Conference lunches is how many folks have been in Washington a long time they’re just not willing to fight and we need changing we need people that will stand with the people even when the Washington establishment doesn’t want change,” Cruz said.

Shannon, Cruz explained, would stand up and fight in spite of the “slings and arrows” thrown in his direction.

Cruz pointed out that his Senate predecessor former Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC), decided to shake up the Republican establishment in 2010 by helping underdog conservatives like Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT), Rand Paul (R-KY), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Ron Johnson (R-WI), and Pat Toomey (R-PA).

“Those candidates were not supposed to win, the party bosses picked someone else, business as usual was operating,” Cruz remembered, pointing out that those candidates were now some of the strongest conservatives in the Senate.

“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Be still my beating heart. </sarcasm>”

If he is still there after November, my hope will be that he will be so weakened by fighting in the primary and in the general, and that his nastiness will be so remembered, that the republican caucus picks another leader. He is a vile and vindictive man, and he will be out for blood.

He is a vile and vindictive man, and he will be out for blood.

Which is why he'll be leader in January, assuming he survives the general election. He is vindictive. He does know how to get even. There are still more establishment Republicans than Conservative ones and they'll support him. Unlike the Speaker, all that McConnell needs is a majority of the Republicans voting for him. That won't be a problem.

And two years under Leader McConnell will be a joke.

Lol. We think we know these people and they get there and succumb to the power vortex (Satan is involved, so we shouldn’t be surprised or daren’t underestimate such a foe as him).

That said, my heart could get to beating should Cruz or Gowdy become Leader. I don’t “know” any more or less than anyone else here about it, but they seem true.

It'd be nice but that'll never happen. Most of his fellow GOP senators hate Cruz worse than they hate Harry Reid.

Once we get the Senate and keep the House we have to destroy most of the Supreme Court. Even then how to destroy the communists Democrats that have take the King Obama administration will be huge fight. The only real hope to convert back to a Constitutional form of government is 2016. And to do that the communists controlled MSM must be destroyed.

My focus is cleaning out the republican party. If this means voting against incumbants that we fail to primary, so be it.

In my case, if Bevin loses against McConnel. I’ll vote for the democrat, even if her win means the R’s don’t get control of the senate because of it. The GOPe is simply not a viable option to the democrats. At least the democrats will own their folly, as they do Obamacare.

“Not willing to fight....” That pretty much sums up their comfortable RINO second-tier country club environment. It’s such a bother to have to go back home once a year and lie about your show votes.

Opinions vary. :-)

I’m in this for the long game. The country’s going down no matter who controls the houses. And if it is GOPe, we’re going to get more of the same. That is not acceptable. If this is our season to route the party rather than take back the nation, so be it.

The time to take back the nation will come. It may be now. Time will tell.

But there is no way I will vote for McConnel under any circumstances other than Satan himself running against him.
