Well here is one good thing about Rush talking about his surgery. Just spoke with one of the researchers I work with. Mentioned Rush’s situation. I think the guy might actually start listening to him just because of that. Cool. Considering I work in commie land.

No, I just read the article. If I were to correct the NYT I would say the context was that during slavery the black family unit was more intact than it is now...not that we should return to slavery. To sum it up in one soundbite.

Yes, very safe and cheap. I use E-Trade but there are so many just as good. Scottrade, Ameritrade just to name a few.

And another stupid question . . . how do you send them money to establish an account? Electronic transfer from your bank?

You can do a wire if you are in a hurry but it’s more expensive. You can send a personal check but that takes time to clear but it’s the cheapest. Money Order or Cashier’s checks clear in one day IIRC. I “assume” if all the other brokers are like E-Trade you can call and speak to someone who can help you set up your account online and answer all your questions. Ameritrade looks awfully good in that ranking, if I were to start all over again I’d probably use them.

I was considering e-trade only from advertising but I think I’ll look into Ameritrade.

Another thought. Your trading platform, the software that connects you to the markets, at E-Trade is free for the basic...again I “assume” that’s the same way at the other brokers. Unless you don’t plan to trade a lot of stocks everyday the basic *free* platform is plenty efficient.

counts out RP, CC & BC of the above; TC, SP and SW are the
(seemly) most reliable conservatives..but '16 is far in the future.
