WAVE YEAR? Daily Caller Poll Shows Deep-Blue Oregon Flashing Red

Oregon Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley is running neck-and-neck with Republican challenger Monica Wehby, according to a new Daily Caller/Vox Populi Polling survey of registered voters in the state.

Wehby, a Portland-based pediatric neurosurgeon, received the support of 40 percent of respondents, while an additional five percent say they are leaning towards supporting the first-time candidate. Merkley, who was elected to the Senate in 2008, garners the support of just 39 percent of respondents, with two percent saying they lean towards supporting him.

Fourteen percent of voters said they do not know whom they would support.

According to Vox Populi’s Brent Seaborn, the poll shows that “the Senate race in Oregon is very much in play for Republicans.”

The poll also indicates that a plurality of voters in the deep-blue state see Obamacare as a mostly failed venture. Forty-six percent of respondents said Obamacare and Cover Oregon, the state’s disastrously flawed health care exchange, were failures, while 17 percent said they were successes, and 37 percent said they were “somewhere in between.”

Conger is the Conservative and polls higher than Monica. She is being overcoached. Conger can win, Wehby not as likely.

Pray America wakes up

Wehby is the liberal establishment candidate. Conger is the Conservative.

You don’t seriously believe Wehby is a Conservative ? She’s a total fake being propped up by the RINO establishment. She has NO chance of winning against Merkley. It is Jason Conger, who has a record of Conservatism in Salem, that is the strongest candidate running who can take back the seat for us.

Take a look at the 10 seats+ we blew in 2012 by running RINO establishment flunkies like Wehby for the Senate. We’d have the majority back today had we run Conservatives instead.

http://www.congerfororegon.com/news/how_jeff_merkley_monica_wehby_and_jason_conger_stack_up_in_fundraising_for_oregons_senate_race

Willard backs fellow liberal Wehby:
http://oregoncatalyst.com/27389-mitt-romney-endorses-dr-monica-wehby.html

Liberal Wehby too scared to defeat Conservative Conger:
http://www.oregonlive.com/opinion/index.ssf/2014/05/wehby_wimps_out_on_televised_d.html

Conger can go toe to toe with Merkley and doesn’t fear debate. If Wehby is too timid to debate her views against Conger, how do you think she’d fare against Merkley ?

Goodness, what does my residence have to do with anything ? It’s a red herring. I follow ALL of our Senate races and as many other contests as humanly possible across the country, and have been for better than 2 decades. Did you bother to read any of those links I gave you ? For someone who proudly proclaims their living in Oregon “real close to the action”, I would think you’d know which are the liberals running and which aren’t.

So, the big question here is why are YOU supporting the Willard-endorsed liberal RINO in the race, Wehby, and not the Conservative Jason Conger ? Why ?

Because....Conger ain’t a Conservative either....sheesh. And, because I believe Wehby can beat Merkley. I live here....I kinda know the landscape. (And, I know you don’t.)

He isn’t a Conservative, “either”, huh ? Proof ? Evidence ? Links ? So you are readily admitting that Wehby is the leftist RINO and you’re still voting for her over Conger ? My question to you is why you’re even on a Conservative website when you’re pimping another big gubmint leftist to send to DC ?

BTW, are you being paid by the Wehby campaign to put out disinformation ? I know that’s the standard liberal RINO M.O. on websites such as ours.

You apparently know a lot about Oregon politics... too bad so much of what you know isn’t so.

It’s a she. What’s a shame is she seems so sensible in other threads. Alas, when it comes to this race, completely reactionary, hysterical, delusional and in total denial.

It’s hard to blame her.

It must be easy to swallow the spoonfuls of hype everyone is feeding us over this candidate, sometimes the lies taste good , don’t they?

Just my educated opinion as someone who follows elections, she has the look of a candidate in way over her head who will crash and burn running against an experienced political a**hole like Merkley. I’d say that even if she was more conservative than Conger, which she very clearly is not.

A 3rd candidate, Mark Callahan, got a bit of a boost via a viral video defending another candidate in the race against some vicious thugs at a paper editorial board. Even that guy would be preferable to Wehby. I mean, it’s a bad sign when she refuses to debate Conger. If she can’t handle him, how’s she going to take on Muffley Merkin ?

I don't hear any of them running on deregulation. And they probably shouldn't.
Give the Dems what they sow, a bug fat surprise to the nose.

“just know voting record of Conger on many issues”

And there you have it. Conger has served in the state house, and although his voting record was conservative, he cast a few compromise votes to which someone may take exception, so some FReepers will conclude that Wehby, who has *no* record, and about whom we know nothing except that she’s a surgeon and whatever she says this week are her political views, is a “pure” candidate and a “real conservative.” Of course, Wehby’s own words reveal her to be a liberal RINO, and her occasional claims of conservatism before conservative audiences are based solely on her say-so, not on anything she’s done, but no matter. Conger is not perfect, so true conservatives must support an admitted liberal who may be even more liberal than she lets on, right, goodnesswins?

Monica Wehby is a political cypher, never holding office or taking public political positions before a few months ago, and never making a donation of $200 or more to a federal political campaign (the donor lookup goes back to 1990, and Wehby’s only federal political donations of $200 or more were to the neurological surgeons’ PAC). I think I’ll take the guy with the conservative—albeit imperfect—record.

Goodness, where are the links to Conger’s “terrible (!)” voting record ? What is Wehby’s voting record ? Why is she scared to debate him ? Could it be she’s yet ANOTHER Establishment ringer to go down to defeat against the Democrat ?

Goodness, for someone who lives in Oregon, aren’t you getting tired of these same Democrats winning over and over again since the 1950s ? How ‘bout supporting an actual Conservative who can win instead of ANOTHER liberal RINO who won’t ? At 63, aren’t YOU a little old for this crap ?

I’m not going to do any homework for you....sorry...I’m busy with other things including the upcoming primary. I’m sick of politicians....and one issue people. “Since the 1950’s?” HA...that tells me how much you know about Oregon. I’ll leave it at that. I have to LIVE here....you don’t. (BTW...she is NOT scared to debate him...but I won’t bore you with the details) Have a nice week. Bye.

"I’m not going to do any homework for you....sorry..."

So you can produce no evidence to support your scurrilous claims. Gotcha.

"I’m busy with other things including the upcoming primary."

Busy helping other liberal RINO losers, eh ?

"I’m sick of politicians....and one issue people."

I'm sick of left-wingers and their little helpers.

"“Since the 1950’s?” HA...that tells me how much you know about Oregon."

Quite a bit, since I'm a political historian, madam. That you don't know when Oregon was last a reliable Republican majority state demonstrates how much YOU know about the place. HA.

"I’ll leave it at that. I have to LIVE here....you don’t."

You don't HAVE to live there, unless Oregon maintains stormtroopers preventing you from exiting.

"(BTW...she is NOT scared to debate him...but I won’t bore you with the details)"

(To quote you): HOW DO YOU KNOW ? HOW DO YOU KNOW ? YOU KNOW THIS HOW ? YOU KNOW THIS HOW ? HOW ? HOW ? HOW ? (/Goodness screeching off). She is scared to debate him or she would. Conger would obliterate her in a debate and expose her as the left-wing establishment RINGER that she is. But please keep up with the dodging and subterfuge. Of course, you could surprise us all and actually cite some factual points instead of spewing mountains of red herrings, but why start now ? Must put up an easy target for the Muffley Merkin !

"Have a nice week. Bye."

Oh, please, don't go 'way, madam. It's been such a singular delight of innuendoes and ignorance. Please shower us with more !

“Won’t do your homework for you”. LOL. Now I’ve used that line myself when I’m too lazy to look something up but often it’s code for “I’m talking out of my a$$”

http://www.oregonlive.com/mapes/index.ssf/2014/05/jason_conger_and_monica_wehby_1.html

Article on some differences between the two.

Now would I say Conger appears to be any kind of great conservative hero? No. But he does appear to be a typical Oregon Republican in the conservative wing of the state party.

Wehby appears to be a vacuous liberal bubblehead.

Let’s pretend Conger is equally as liberal as Wehby, he’s not but let’s pretend. So what? She’s a still a inexperienced candidate who’s fumbling around lost in the dark. He at least knows how to run in an election.

The only point in Wehby’s favor as far as electibliby goes is that she has more money and more access to money (national GOPE support), this a valid plus.

Also she’s “pro-choice”, if you believe a pro-life candidate couldn’t possibly win. I don’t. Smith was pro-life and he only in lost in 2008 thanks to a Constitution party candidate.

Obamacare is the central issue this year and despite being a DOCTOR she only recently decided to say she’d repeal it after voicing support for a slightly toned down version. That shows an astounding lack of judgment.

And Goodnesswins please DO “bore us with the details” of why she won’t debate Conger. Usually the only reason a candidate refuses to debate is that they are worried they’d lose the debate.

And is there anything more weasel-y when punks like Wehby running for office say they’re PERSONALLY pro-life while they vote for infanticide ? That is a PREMIER leftist talking point. I’d sure love to see a candidate say they’re personally pro-infanticide, but will vote pro-life, because they don’t want to FORCE their liberal views on anyone.
