No, Ms. Holmes is a catastrophe of both the 20th century and the 21st century.

She forgot the Second Boer War. That's understandable, given that the war only went into 1902. Not much happened since then until Iraq.

Desert Storm commencing in 1990 and ending in 1991. I believe the US lost 245

Resulting in 148 U.S. battle deaths, and 145 nonbattle deaths, including 15 women. Wounded in action: 467.

I wouldn’t call it catastrophic. I kind of liked Iran and Iraq kicking the bleep out of each other.

We have just over 3,500 combat deaths in Iraq, with 4,500 if we include other US military deaths there. A thoroughly biased site https://www.iraqbodycount.org/ claims 188,000 dead total, including civilians.

We had just over 30,000 combat deaths in the Battle of Chancellorsville alone. 620,000 died in the Civil War (War of Northern Aggression/War Between the States) overall.

Operation Overlord lost approximately 2,500 in one day. Total deaths from WW2 would be around 50 million to more than 80 million, depending on definitions and sources used.

Eleanor Holmes Norton is monumentally stupid to even make such an absurd statement. The Iraqi War may have been a mistake and was certainly conducted stupidly, especially over the past five years, but it is a trivial historical blip nowhere near the most catastrophic war in our history, and it was not during the 20th century at all (starting in 2003).

The operation concluded in 1991. But only with a temporarily cease fire, never a treaty ratified by the senate until recently.

Incredible stupidity tolerated by the United States public through five presidents.

D.C. Dem Eleanor Holmes Norton: Iraq was ‘the most catastrophic war of the 20th century’

Despite the fact that this nit-wit has confused her centuries, the most catastrophic war has been waged in both the 20th and 21st centuries. This is the war Democrats declared on American citizens starting roughly a century ago by Woodrow Wilson and re-upped by FDR, HST, LBJ, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and the current Balloon-Head-In-Chief.

Thanks Cheerio.
...the Democrats’ non-voting congressional observer from the District of Columbia. You may remember her as the genius who claimed that people didn’t know they had to sign up for ObamaCare because evil Republicans had convinced everyone it had been repealed.
Now now, in her defense, she got this information from Kerry, and he heard President Nixon say it in his holiday season broadcast in 1968. No, seriously, she was just discussing this with Zero when she ran into him in one of the 57 states. They also discussed how Islamic contributions to the sciences are primarily responsible to that US flag our astronauts planted on Mars. He later sent her copies of those emails which aren't about Benghazi.

There’s a very good reason DC has a ‘Delegate’ and not a voting Representative. Hard to imagine a city that size, and this is the best they can do?

It has to do with ‘she’s a democrat’ and the press won’t go after her for this stupidity.

Do you know of ONE Republican who could speak such garbage and get away with it? And trust me, she WILL get away with it.

She belittles the men and woman of the 57 states that died in that war.
