Like is this a big issue in California where it needs a special law? Glad those legislators in Sacramento aren't wasting their time on nonsensical laws

A bit inconsistent, when they’re turning the state budget into Confederate money.

Good point, I guess that history textbooks will have to excise the section on the Civil War.

Well, there was an attempt in Southern California to secede and join the Confederacy. It’s part of the history of California, although I sincerely doubt many there know this.

AB2444 by Assemblyman Isadore Hall, D-Compton, is headed to the Senate after passing on a 72-1 vote. Hall introduced the bill after his mother saw replica Confederate money being sold at the state Capitol gift shop, which no longer stocks the item.

Maybe it's just me but it sorta strikes me that an assemblyman from Compton has bigger things to worry about than replica Confederate money. Otoh, maybe the gang bangers and dope dealers which invest the Compton area will put down their guns when they hear about this.

Flags from all the communist nations will still be available though as will Che Guevara T-Shirts. They’re big sellers in Caulifornya.
