Whoa. Not good. Definitely on the pornographic side (that is, I can’t imagine that it advances the story in any way and it is certainly unnecessary).

This started long ago. My kids went to California public schools in the 1980s because we lived in a place that had no Catholic school (except for a girls’ HS that had had a few problems, shall we say). These depressing, dreary “teen problem” books were being already being introduced way back then. My daughters were being presented with books about girls being molested by their drunken fathers and my son was supposed to read books about boys who were gang members.

-— What really burns me is NOBODY there even tried to help him...not so much as a peep.

Most either looked away or pretended it wasn’t happening.

It should. Sadly, free babysitting buys a lot of silence.

AFAIK, Home-schooling is BANNED in California.

It isn't. There's a huge homeschooling movement in California and in California it's surprisingly easy to homeschool compared to other states.

Actually it is easier in California that in some of the eastern states. It is a broad and vibrant community

Like the liberal pundits have decreed that since you are a Teen you must have a Problem.

Same here in Washington State at least on the eastern side of the Cascades where the school districts provide lots of resources and assistance to home schoolers.

Another Reason to Homeschool

hslda.org should have better information than me, but I do NOT believe that is the case. Every month, hslda updates members on significant events in states all over our nation.

If homeschools were banned there, I believe members would know about it.

Rhode Island and Massachusetts do NOT ban homeschooling, but DO make it difficult with all sorts of red tape.

It’s hard to see how the arrest could be justified when he agreed to be escorted out, apparently.
