Rep. Gowdy: ‘I Have Evidence’ of Benghazi Cover-Up

Rep. Trey Gowdy said Friday that he has evidence of a “systematic, intentional” effort by the Obama administration to withhold documents from Congress about the 2012 Benghazi attacks that killed four Americans.

“I have evidence that, not only are they hiding it, there’s an intent to hide it,” the South Carolina Republican told “On the Record With Greta Van Susteren” on Fox News. “I can’t disclose that evidence yet, but I have evidence that there was a systematic, intentional decision to withhold certain documents from Congress — and we’re just sick of it.”

House Speaker John Boehner is considering Gowdy to head a select committee to investigate the Libyan attacks on Sept. 11, 2012, that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, including two former Navy SEALs.

The speaker said Friday that the House would vote on a resolution to establish the panel next week.

Gowdy, 49, a former prosecutor who is in his second House term, made the accusations in response to a question on Secretary of State John Kerry being subpoenaed — also on Friday — by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The panel, chaired by California GOP Rep. Darrell Issa, wants Kerry to explain why the panel did not receive a 2012 email showing Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes counseling former U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to link the Benghazi attacks to an anti-Muslim video.

The email, released Tuesday by Judicial Watch, was not among the documents the oversight panel received in response to its subpoena last year. The committee received the document this week.

I think it would have worked..because Obama would have been seen as a hero saving a US Ambassador..Israel traded in hundreds of Palestinian criminals to get back one Israeli soldier..all Obama would have had to do is give back ONE guy..I think that was the original intent, because it just made too much sense, first we hear the rumors about the Blind Sheikh then this happens, its just all too convenient

I said right after seeing the Breitbart CPAC speech that he can't toy with this bunch of liberals that way. You cannot announce that you have damning evidence that you will only release a month or so from now, and then expect to live to actually release it.

If you're going to announce it, release it immediately and then let the committees pick up the pieces in the aftermath. Don't use the committee as the platform for the release, because you may not get that far in the process.

NOW, will the truth of what is plausible come out to the public. Will the folks on The Five, or Greta or Megyn or Brett or Hannity on Fox bring this true story to light? Will Rush or Mark Levin or any other conservative talk show host bring this to light and tell the people about it? That's why these talk show hosts need to be pounded to tell the truth, to do their research..it's all out there on Google, like we did, and start opening their mouths with facts and figures. I only hope this happens in my lifetime.

I agree and we ALL know that its Valerie Jarrett that runs the show..Obama won’t take a dump unless Jarrett tells him to push..Jarrett is the President, Obama is her puppet..I think she is probably the one that came up originally with the whole idea, it blew up in her face, and that is why the military was told to stand down..she was upset her plan failed so she let them all die
