House Speaker John A. Boehner's selection of seven Republicans on a select committee to investigate the Benghazi attacks that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other diplomatic staff members in September 2012 reveals a mix of male and female lawmakers who bring a variety of experience and political power to the table.

The committee, which is being led by Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., includes Republican Reps. Susan Brooks, Indiana; Jim Jordan, Ohio; Mike Pompeo, Kansas; Martha Roby, Alabama; Peter Roskam, Illinois; and Lynn Westmoreland, Georgia, reports The Washington Post.

Boehner announced the committee earlier on Friday, including a message on Twitter inviting Americans to "meet your majority members."

Oh, and if you all walk out, you are all being replaced by a Republican and the work continues. You had the chance to stay and do your job and did not. So it was your decision.

LOL I’m sorry. For either Party, there is not a “powerhouse” in the bunch much less a “legal” one.

Looks like he’s serious. I wonder what Pelosi is going to come back with?

They’re probably mostly going to be blacks who are adept at screaming “racism,” possibly with a gay who will find some strange gay angle.

I heard that Miguel Estrada (who is brilliant, but whose Supreme Court nomination was shot down by the Dems) is going to be involved in some way. That’s definitely a good thing because he is a “powerhouse.”

Rosa DeLauro suggested that Dems name just one member to the committee. Wonder who that one would be?
My guess it would be someone with a high melanin count....

I don't suppose lightning could strike twice and he could appoint a Select Committee for the IRS snarl of scandals.

I DO understand the need for this Committee, don't get me wrong!

But IRS has been happening for years and is MUCH worse than Benghazi.

IRS goes to a special Prosecutor, it'll disappear into the 'can't comment on an ongoing investigation' black-hole for at least the next 3 years.

Boehner should have put Louie Gohmert on the select committee.

That's ok. There are plenty of scandals/corruption to go around for all your favorite congress critters to investigate.

We don't want all our star talent to be on one committee. Gotta spread around the wealth.

If there are dems on the committee, they will waste time by giving speeches everytime they open their mouths.

If you've seen Issa shut that fatuous blowhard Cummings up, I'd say multiply it by ten for Gowdy. He'll know when they're starting a speech and won't let them get halfway through the first sentence.

Thank goodness for Trey Gowdy. He knows it’s their only chance and they can’t have those speech questions or it truly will be a circus. I hope there are no dems on there. I still can’t get over Cummings in collusion with Lerner while he’s investigating her-corrupt to the core.

Linda's so light in the loafers he could replace Paul Lynde on "Hollywood Squares" and no one would notice.

Except Paul Lynde was funny and a national treasure. Graham is neither.

Boehner should have put Louie Gohmert on the select committee.
Let’s save Louie to chair the select committee on the IRS.

I like that idea, okie01 !!! Louie is a piece of work and doesn’t mince words.
