On May 9th Jack in the Box announced it would "prefer guests not bring their guns inside [Jack in the Box] restaurants."
This announcement comes in response to a Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America (Moms Demand) campaign aimed at securing an all-out gun ban in Jack in the Box corporate stores. Moms Demand also wanted franchises to be pressured into banning guns as well.
Moms Demand started the campaign after customers legally carried their rifles into a Fort Worth, Texas, Jack in the Box last week.

Nothing wrong with the company making their preference known, as long as they ultimately respect the law.
I was in Las Vegas recently and I tried one of their burgers. I can say authoritatively that their burgers will not be missed by anybody.
Burger King is still the best of the bunch.

I’m seeing a connection here...
Even though it is Mother’s Day, I will still say: I am so sick of these ‘mom’ groups.
The other one was Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), whose efforts got us the ridiculous .08 DUI limit.
It seems to me that, if they are creating a policy in place where they are deciding that customers cannot protect themselves on the restaurant premises, Jack is telling the customers that they will assume that responsibility and all the risks associated with that responsibility.

They are just saying they “prefer” guests not bring their guns. I don’t have a problem with that...I won’t follow it but they can “prefer” what they wish!!!
I’m seeing a connection between open carry and a polite clientele who will help let me and my family eat our freakin’ burgers in peace.........
What they’re going to do? Frisk you?
Restaurants and companies that kowtow to activist groups lose my business. Whatever happened to businesses, restaurants and companies that served “everyone?”
JITB is getting hammered on their Facebook page also. https://www.facebook.com/jackinthebox
Well, now I *prefer* not to patronize Jack in the Box. Sword cuts both ways.
Exactly. Now, I’m not one of these ‘the customer is always right’ types - we all know that’s an outright fantasy - but you deliver what you promise with a smile, and you get my return business. If the law says I’m not doing anything wrong and you honor that, deliver the product you advertise, then I’ll spend my hard-earned dollars at your fine establishment again.
Anyhoo - do these ‘moms’ understand that this was in Fort Worth? TEXAS? That is picking the wrong hill to die on. So to speak.
OK. time for an immediate nationwide boycott of jack-in-the-box by all gun owners then. Too easy.
If Jack in the Box refused to put up the no-gun sign, this is a victory for us.
For refusing to ban guns in their restaurants?
