Obama: I Need New Yorkers to Move West and Vote Democrat
by Charlie Spiering 15 May 2014, 7:41 AM PDT President Obama joked during a New York fundraiser that he needed the attendees to move west to increase his support.
During his speech, Obama told a story about a woman who asked how she could help him, and he joked that she should move to North Dakota.
“If I could just get about a million excess votes in Brooklyn out to Nebraska, Wyoming, we’d be doing okay,” Obama said as the crowd laughed. “I don't need 80 percent of the vote here.”
Obama complained about “structural disadvantages” with the political system, pointing out that although Republican ideas did not have support from the majority of Americans, the political system kept Democratic majorities out of reach.
“We have a congenital disease, which is: during midterms our voters don't show up. That's what it comes down to,” he said. “That and population distribution and gerrymandering.”
Obama said he had been stymied in trying to enact his agenda because "Washington doesn't work."
Obama said:
The challenge we've got is very simple: Washington doesn’t work. It's not as if we've got no good ideas on policy. We've got tons of them. I've got a drawer full of things that we know would create jobs, help our middle class, boost incomes, make us more competitive. But we have a party on the other side that has been captured by an ideology that says no to everything because they cling to a rigid theory that the only way to grow the economy is for government to be dismantled and let the market sort things out, and folks at the top doing very well will somehow automatically trickle down to everybody else.

He forgot the most important part of that sentence: “Because the Westerners are onto me and won’t buy my horse puckie.’

Bathhouse Barry’s idea may really be working. I know an abortion clinic owner in Texas who moved to New Mexico because she didn’t like the political atmosphere in Texas. Yeah, she moved to Santa Fe.

He’s got a genie bag full of grand ideas like cap and trade and smart meters to go on top of past liberal ideas such as low flow toilets and protecting lizards on public lands. All imposed by a fascist government straight out of Orwell....where the bleep is Rod Serling?

This is a statement by “O” which tells you all you need to know about how he ‘thinks’.
It is idiotic, crude and blunt... but, there you have it!
They won’t like it out here. We shoot bandits or hang ‘em high. The others we tar and feather. We know sh&*t from Shinola. We don’t much cotton to being told how to live our lives by Easterners. There’s b’ars out here and you need guns to shoot ‘em. Not a fitten’ place for pansy city-folks.
So, if during midterms, his voters don’t show up, whose fault is that?
As far as gerrymandering, I disregard such comments, because Democrats gerrymander when they are in control of redistricting.
Regarding Republicans being the minority, how does he arrive at such a conclusion? There are more Republicans than Democrats in the House of Representatives. Republicans control many more state legislatures and governorships than do Democrats.
Regarding population distribution, could it be that Democrats and people like Obama, just haven’t made the case to people in many parts of the country? Big cities tend to vote heavily Democrat, and suburbs of big cities tend to be split between the parties. Small town and rural America tends to vote heavily Republican. Whose fault is it, if Obama hasn’t persuaded big numbers of small town and rural voters to vote Democrat??????
