Allen West: I am considering a run for President (VIDEO)
Pundit Press ^ | May 15 2014 | Dan Butcher

On Wednesday, former Congressman Allen West told Ben Shapiro that he is considering a run for President in 2016.

Shapiro: And I am not saying something’s going to happen. But I am hearing very strong rumors—we have to ask— there have been very strong rumors that you are interested in throwing your hat into the ring for the 2016 presidential nomination on the Republican side of the aisle. Is there any truth to those rumors?

West: Well look, the thing is this. As I was doing the motorcycle ride across the country and wherever we stopped, you know, fuel stop, overnight stop, people would come up and they would ask me that question.

It would be very disrespectful and dismissive of great Americans if I did not step back and take the time to consider it and pray about it and talk it over with close confidantes. So that what I will do. And we will make the right decision, not just for me but for the country and for the future of this great constitutional republic.

So am I considering it? Yes. I am considering it. That does not mean I am going to jump it and do it, but in respect to those people who are so very kind and believe that I have that level of capacity and capability, that’s what I have to do for them.

I’d prefer he run for Rubio’s empty senate seat, but it would sure be good to watch him rip Krispy a new one

I really wish they would be governors first before trying to become POTUS.

West/Cruz...

West/Gowdy...

West/Scott...

Scott/West...

Any of those combinations would be better for the Country than ANYTHING the dims try to fraud us with.

Poor deluded decent guy—he won’t get the black solidarity vote, because he’d be running as a conservative, or a Republican. A tough climb, indeed.

I like West - a lot. He would make a formadible candidate and a great President.

SOMEHOW, conservatives need to coalesce around ONE candidate - West, Cruz, Perry, WHOEVER and BACK THAT ONE CANDIDATE TO THE HILT.

If we DON’T the Carl Roves, John Boehners and Bush Brothers of the world will be sure to do so and beat us in the primaries while we tear each other apart as they did in 2012.

He doesn’t have to get a large part of the black vote. Peel off 15% of it, and there will never be another Democrat president in our lifetimes.

He’s a good man. I would vote for him. But the public looks for “experience.” (Unless the candidate is a member of a specially-privileged minority)

It would be a monumental task just to get FReepers to coalesce around one of those candidates. But it would be powerful. WE COULD WIN!

All he has to do to win the nomination, running away from all other contenders, is adopt THIS position and never yield:

I oppose any legal status for illegal aliens in the US today. The border fence will be built and policed under my administration. E-verify laws will be stridently enforced.

I will sponsor legislation that will deny ALL federal funding to any state or municipality who harbors illegal aliens under the color of law.

LANDSLIDE!

I liked West a great deal until, ‘Well I can’t do anything with this (Obama’s eligibility) because I might run for political office.’

I really like Allen, but he doesn’t compare to Cruz.

Cruz is just smarter and tougher than anyone there.

You left out Walker. Gowdy is new because of the Benghanzi situation. Can we see if he is going to have any results before we start the cheerleading. We have zero idea if he can do anything. Cruz again....he needs to prove he can have a result or two. So far he has not done anything in the Senate that the President has actually signed. West is good. So we have Walker/West...Perfect!

Walker/West 2016....that is a winning ticket!
