Unfit for Office
National Review Online ^ | May 14, 2014 | Dr. Benjamin Carson

The recent escalating arguments over whether there should be further congressional hearings on Benghazi are troubling. The fact that there are substantial numbers of people who feel that there is nothing more to investigate when four American lives were lost and no one has answered for this crime provides an indication of how far our sense of justice has slipped.

This should not be a partisan issue, because the implications of ignoring or prevaricating about the underlying mistakes will have far-reaching consequences. The United States has diplomatic establishments throughout the world, and if they can be attacked without consequences, it greatly diminishes our influence despite any protestations to the contrary.

What does it say about our judgment if we have diplomatic establishments for which we make inadequate provisions for protection? This is especially disturbing because it was revealed that requests by the diplomatic facility in Benghazi for more protection were refused. There had been attacks on the facility not long before the fatal attack, and hostile actions had been taken against the British, which they were wise enough to react to appropriately.

Even more confounding was the decision to abandon our personnel at the facility because someone decided that our military forces could not reach them in time to effect a rescue. How could such a decision be made when no one knew how long the hostile action would last?

When our top officials make decisions to abandon our own people because they feel the situation is hopeless, they also abandon the concept of American exceptionalism and create doubt in the minds of all future military participants about the intention of their superiors to expend maximum effort to preserve their lives when they have sacrificed everything for our nation.

“Rove is so busy countering conservatives he doesn’t see that Hillary is running as a conservative.”

She’s talking about a return to the Clinton years, so yeah, she’s definitely running to the right of Obama and I daresay the GOPe. Oh, did I say running? She’s only thinking about that. She hasn’t actually decided (BS!). She’s already had the physical makeover. Now she’s working on the political makeover. She’s all in. Bet on it!

She’s running to the right of Jeb. Obama is not running. Not officially.

Of course that’s all he does, is run for office. He’s so good at it he can do it for 6 years. What six year incumbent, lame duck, does NOTHING but have fundraisers?

She is running to the right of the GOPe and Jeb.

That’s it.

I truly wish Dr. Carson won’t destroy himself by getting into politics. I love that man.

“She is running to the right of the GOPe and Jeb.”

Totally agree and she’s already started her campaign. Jeb is clearly the GOPe’s anointed one, and he’s started campaigning, too. The GOPe learned very little from 2008 and 2012 beyond being even more aggressive to squash competition from the conservative right.

On a personal level just look at the relationship between her and her husband. She was humiliated world wide by her husband while in office and she was touted as this strong women with a moral conviction to her husband when it was all about power greed and the bottom line Former NY RAT governor Elliot spritzer ran into the same problem and she stood by her man until we found out about her pay out and reward for doing so. If there private lives have no moral compass you can imagine how they feel about us and our families

That’s what usually happens. Don’t get their ketchup, whatever and then jump up on the counter and have a hissy fit.

If any weapons from Libya and Syrian terrorists whom we armed got to terrorists in Nigeria, I can't see how anyone involved gets elected anymore.

If the investigation is real, that is. Anyone who was okay with that (including 'pubs) is through being elected.

That's why I wonder if the investigation will get to the bottom of things. I suspect that the findings would be toxic across the political spectrum.

“And yet, she’s the frontrunner for pres.”....

Assuming “she” is Hitlary, the media wants you to believe she is the front runner, at least for now. There are many other candidates who will be potentials for that position.

It is up to WE THE PEOPLE to see that Hitlary NEVER becomes POTUS. Remember, “What Difference Does It Make”

are one of those micromanaging people, aren’t you. Making regulations up as you go along, causing co workers to make errors, and driving kids to resentment.

Well, what are your Hillary regulations?

Or, maybe you could notify the moderators and they can have my posts pulled.

The sense of “justice” in the media remains where it has been for decades: everything for the Party, and nothing for America.

Why do we keep using phrases like “4 American lives lost”? It was an ambassador of the freakin’ United States. A person hand-picked by a POTUS, in charge of an embassy or outpost - legally or de facto US soil - overseas. Not a tourist, not a guy out there opening a franchise. We’ve yet again missed an opportunity. Why haven’t the conservative pundits been comparing his death to an equivalent of killing Obama or the left’s precious Hillary? Do they think the left cares if 3 of those folks were military? They already hate the military.

It is up to WE THE PEOPLE to see that hillary never becomes POTUS

Not exactly. It's up to the RINO glogbalist back-stabbing elitists who gave us George2, McCain, and Romney to NEVER AGAIN manipulate someone who isn't a constitutional conservate into the nomination again.

When the RINOs start saying "lesser of two evils" what they're saying is they don't really care which one wins, both will promote the globalist pro-corporate, war-mongering agenda.

If its Jeb, Christie, PaulRyan or another backstabber, let the nation splinter apart under hillary, since the US is on its way to the trash heap of failed civilizations if the next president doesn't dramatically and quickly turn things around. A RINO won't save us.
