The fact (and it is a fact) that the cases which are treated in modern medical facilities out side of the louse hole that is sand land all do fine.

This is NOT a lethal disease for those who I’ve in a civilized country.

It is like decrying malaria....sure it kills folks in the third world. In places with clean water and mosquito control it does not.

Do not hold your breath or worry yourself. More importantly do not let the hype of the media fool you.

When I think of an Orlando case I just think of all the international travelers exposed and now going to their homes in countries all over the world.

There will be lots of travel during the 14 days before they are sick. At least enough to seek medical help!

I wonder if I am an alarmist or if it is a real possibility?

There is probably a quick cure for all MERS cases...it is intravenous Vitamin C. The knowledge is there in a few in the medical community. IV-C cures a host of things, viral, bacterial, etc. It will cure bites from poisonous snakes and poisonous spiders. IV-C, and it is so good that a doctor 60 years ago cured 60 out of 60 cases of polio with intravenous vitamin C.

Why isn’t it being used now...in every hospital, in every doctor’s office, in this country and around the world?

I think it’s a little insulting to say ‘your concern is silly”.

Concern is NEVER silly, panic for no reason can be silly, but never concern.

You are right of course...

Hi levels of oral vitamin C are tolerated when the body needs vitamin C. Maybe enough to deal with MERS. The body seems to know when it needs vitamin C. Animals that produce their own vitamin C see a surge in this production when needed to fight whatever might be going on in their bodies.

“how many MERS victims will be sharing public restrooms prior to diagnosis and medical isolation?”

Every time restrooms are mentioned, I think of the worst one I was ever in. I have traveled to many countries, including Hong Kong and mainland China, but the worst airport restroom is in Athens, Greece. There were flies on the potty. It took some gyrations not to sit on that potty.

I think the most likely place you could contact a disease when flying, besides sitting by someone and/or breathing the recirculating air, is the airport restroom. When people get off a plane, they head for the first bathroom. Whatever bacteria/virus they leave there on anything they touch, including the door into the bathroom, the next person comes in contact with it and the next one and the next one, etc..

“this is not a virus of concern IF you live in a modern medical nation. ALL of the those who are in the US have been treated (where needed) and are doing fine.”

There is no cure for this disease. “Treatment” is alleviating symptoms as much as possible. There is no medicine for it. If your own body can’t fight the virus well enough, you die.

Are you as concerned over the latest round of influenza? Or how about measles?....You keep ignoring the fact that this is something which is treatable by MODERN MEDICINE

Why don’t we STOP people from coming into the United States from infected countries?

Do we always have to be the stupid ones?

and you keep insulting fellow Freepers.

AND, yes, as a matter of fact I am concerned about influenza and measles as I have 2 elderly parents who aren’t in the best of health, or didn’t they explain THAT as a reason for concern where you’ve gotten all your knowledge?!

Even WITH vaccines. NOTHING is fool proof.
