The Associated Press reports:
More than half of female Marines in boot camp can't do three pullups, the minimum standard that was supposed to take effect with the new year, prompting the Marine Corps to delay the requirement, part of the process of equalizing physical standards to integrate women into combat jobs.
The delay rekindled sharp debate in the military on the question of whether women have the physical strength for some military jobs, as service branches move toward opening thousands of combat roles to them in 2016.

okay when we need people’to give bith in a combat zone we’ve got it covered. i think injured soldiers would rather have people around that have upper body strength to lug them out of harm’s way than ones with impressive uterine abilities.

Somehow I cannot bring myself to imagine how John McCain or Mitt Romney could have pulled the services so low. Lukewarm/compromising or not.
If you want social programs, sponsor the Peace Corps. But don’t look to the Army, Air Force, Navy or Marines.

I sure as hell hope one of these fine male devil dogs don’t find themselves in need of a firemans carry due to wounds in combat and the only option is a female Marine. God help this country if the Corps hasn’t flushed this craps out of its system. I guess my Corps is a kinder gentler one

You have to read the entire article. The writer isn't quite as vapid as the excerpt would suggest.
When I was in WM’s had to meet exactly the same physical standards.
It means that the womyn who have been allowed into front line combat will be worked up the chain to be commanders because they have time on the front lines.
Never mind the fact that we will never face another army that has womyn in the front lines.
Never mind that we will have to subject womyn to the VA.
